Judging a whole race is racist, and makes one a pitwit.
Is that what they were doing?
I see someone asking a question...if, after the Civil War, the freed slaves had gone to Liberia, would we be having the issues we have today? Imagine having the retort that “your ancestors CHOSE to stay” when someone claimed inequity due to slavery. If it had been a serious, widely accepted option, how different would America be today? Would the blacks that had remained made more of an effort to assimilate? Would they have been more accepted since they - the already freed blacks - had at that time been making great strides in assimilation?
Would Africa be different today? Would the influx of (some) western educated blacks into that continent a couple of decades earlier made a difference? Could Liberia have become an example of a Capitalist Republic that would act as an example for the rest of Africa? Or would it have failed and led Africa even more down the path of Marxist-Socialism?
As for judging a race by the actions of a few - I would say there is a fair amount of that on both sides - and it needs to stop.
