Typical responses from the knee jerk contingency. Americans paid in to SS and politicians stole the moola for their giveaways. President Trump wants to put SS on the path towards solvency not screw Americans further. He is good at solving that kind of problem & much more honest that the cut/not-cut crooks.
The GOP keeps pushing for cuts in SS & Medicare! Trump is right.
Didn’t scam at all. SSDI/SSI are under the SS umbrella. Let me put it this way, I got about 20x more out than I paid in.
It’s not rare either.
Weather you like it or not, socialist entitlements are wealth redistribution and that’s all social security is. It’s a ponzi scheme that takes from the young and hands to the old. Hardly anyone has paid in as much as they get out, unless they die real early.
What could take DeSantis out? We’ve already lived through Trump & now Santos. Our outrage has been blunted by these guys normalizing it. Scandal is almost meaningless.
What is the PLAN to fully fund Social Security at its present levels with no changes of any kind?
Or is this more demagoguery by Trump just as his promising more stimulus payments for 2021 (as BIDEN then did) was? Heck, as the STIMULUS payments TRUMP made in total disregard for need or its affect on the economy all thru COVID?
The majority of elected Republicans are closer to so-called RINOs than to conservatives. If anything, the true RINOs are conservatives or populists.
“Are you not paying attention?”
I was referring to daily smears, such as Trump faces 24/7.
Even Biden gets a few swipes.
So what is your alleged disability portnoy???
Like I said...I have no problem with social security. You can rail against it all you want...I am all for wealth distribution...as long as all that wealth is distributed to ME...:)
He was agnostic on abortion, not “for abortion”. Then he had an epiphany, a realization of the intrinsic value of a child. There was no waffling like a windsock or pandering to a constituency.
Just don’t call yourself a conservative if you support socialist programs, that’s all. You’re not even moderate. Period.
I personally think this NooB is full of bovine excrement...
Trump does want to slash SSDI and SSI benefits.
While Trump doesn’t want to reduce Social Security retirement benefits, he included about $45 billion in cuts to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI) in his 2021 budget proposal.
Trump has proposed cutting disability benefits by reducing the amount of retroactive benefits a worker can receive from 12 months to six and narrowing the definition of disability. Currently, age can be used as a factor to qualify a worker for disability benefits if they’re at least 50. The administration has suggested increasing the age requirement to 55. Trump has also proposed various changes that would make it harder to receive SSI benefits, which go to low-income families.

Let's see... Other than all of his handpicked candidates losing in the midterms, a laughably embarrassing superhero NFT fiasco, a moribund campaign announcement, dinner with Kanye and Nick Fuentes, and a growing number of polls where DeSantis is leading, things have been going great for Trump!
He did throw a spectacular lavender soirée at Mar-A-Lago though, which really fired up the MAGA base.
Actually, the best news Trump has had all month is the apparent revelation that every elected politician has squirreled away classified documents in their homes.
“In 2022, Social Security’s cost is projected to exceed total income (i.e., tax revenues plus interest income). Trust fund reserves are projected to decline steadily from their peak of $2.9 trillion to zero in 2035.
Following the depletion of trust fund reserves, scheduled tax revenues are projected to be sufficient to pay 80% of scheduled benefits initially, declining to 74% by 2096....
Over the next 20 years, the worker-to-beneficiary ratio is projected to decline as the baby-boom generation moves into retirement and is replaced with workers from lower-birth-rate generations.
Although projected increases in life expectancy play a role, the trustees point to the shift in the population’s age distribution due to lower birth rates as the dominant factor in increased program cost over the next 75 years....
To illustrate the magnitude of changes needed to maintain Social Security solvency over the next 75 years, the trustees point out hypothetically two options that it would take:
1 - an immediate 3.24 percentage point increase in the payroll tax rate (from 12.40% to 15.64%) or
2 - an immediate 20.3% reduction in scheduled benefits for all current and future beneficiaries (or a 24.1% reduction for newly-eligible beneficiaries only).

Doing NOTHING means the pain is deferred, but will be greater when it arrives. Minor changes NOW might do a lot - such as ending SS for anyone who entered the USA illegally, cutting the “disability” (fraud) payments, etc. Changing retirement ages that are 20 years out - by a year or two - would help. That has been done in the past.
Heck, it could be solved if AMERICANS started having BABIES again!
NO ONE is talking about cutting benefits immediately. But they will be cut in 12 years (when I’m in my 70s) if nothing is done now.
Thank you, but that was 6 years ago, according to the date. So anything current about Trump being willing to cut any social spending NOW is what we need to know, since the new Republican House wants to discuss that, and Trump only seems to be kneecapping them instead of offering support.
Start by deporting every illegal alien infesting America. Cut benefits and freebies like medical care, food and housing, free phones, and many will self deport.
Quit EITC of huge amounts to people who don’t pay taxes.
Cut foreign aid and foreign war spending.
Cut forever benefits and retirements from Congress.
Clean out that foul cesspool of grifting crooks that inhabit the US government stealing from the citizens along with the people who aid and abet the grift.
Places to start first.
The GOP keeps pushing for cuts in SS & Medicare! Trump is right.

Trump has been playing smart politics for about a month.
He’s so worried about the 2024 Primaries, that he’s taking center-right and middle road positions.(Which means he’s not worried about the primary)
His primary challengers will either be agreeing with Trump or taking unpopular positions with the voting electorate.( Either way it benefits Trump)
I’m at the 3/4 century mark...I have worked since I was 16 years old...I am a Vietnam Veteran...I served my country honorably and with love...I worked while I went to college...
I have paid into SS Medicare ALL those years...
I have EARNED my payback of SS and Medicare...
I agree to that. There’s lots of places to make cuts without cutting benefits from a program that people actually paid into.
Trump is a BigGovt, swamp-loving guy. Nothing new.
The overriding factor this cycle, though, is that Trump is self-centered. He doesn't care if these horrible entitlements are going to fail. It won't happen till his career is over. He's got one political cycle left in his political life. He'll say or do nearly anything it takes to win in 24.
Trump has taken more Left turns lately than a NASCAR driver.
The only Right turn of late is his wise comments about the neocon's latest war.
SS is the worst entitlement in that it grows dependency on the feds which distorts rational thinking. There are otherwise intelligent R folks who talk about SS like it's a good thing - mostly because they are now dependent on it.
Rush was Right about this, as usual: Lefties judge the success of an entitlement program by how many are in it. Righties judge the success of the nation and Freedom based on how many are not.
Paul Ryan was Right too. Years ago. When he wanted to push entitlements to the states.
