A massive, coordinated scheme to sell false and fraudulent nursing degree credentials has been brought down by a joint federal law enforcement operation, Justice Department officials said Wednesday.
As first reported by ABC News, officials said the scheme involved peddling more than $100 million worth of bogus nursing diplomas and transcripts over the course of several years -- fake credentials that were sold to help "thousands of people" take "shortcuts" toward becoming licensed, practicing nurses.
Officials said the forged diplomas and transcripts were sold from what had been accredited schools to aspiring nurses, in order to help candidates bypass the qualifying requirements necessary to sit for the national nursing board exam...
...Overall, the conspiracy involved the distribution of over 7,600 fake nursing diplomas and certificates issued by Florida-based nursing programs....

okay I got $20 on black!! (...s the majority of the race invovled!!)
After covid, i have no confidence in doctors, nurses, hospitals, etc.
I lost all mine years ago when the bill for a 15 minute stress test on a tread mill was $8700.00 !! lol...
Yeah, kinda sounds like a scam.
The joke was;
“Those who can’t do teach. Those who can’t teach, teach nursing.”
My sisters two day stay in ICU was about $100,000.
Thankfully her insurance coverage started a few days prior.
My mother’s and my sisters were over a million each
It is crazy how much it costs. Have to buy those machines and drugs and pay those employees.
Third worldism
Just another form of the social promotion we see in academia.
Most of the new hires in the hospital I work at are from Africa or Asia.
Paying for the uninsured. That's why.
Turns out that on that five page bill...which contained a hundred or more separate charges...was a charge for $17,000 *just for the hip itself*...the piece of metal.
Of course insurance companies don't pay "list price" for any service the policy holder receives but it's still chutzpah to quote a figure like that even if they don't expect to get that amount.
The scam with the teachers’ unions (where teachers who receive advanced degrees get thousands more per year, even if the degree is unrelated to the subject they teach or assists in no way) isn’t race-based; it is a scheme to add to the teachers’ paychecks, which in turn allows the union to funnel more taxpayer dollars to the Democrat coffers through union dues.
Those diploma mills need to be shut down as well; they cost the taxpayers heavily and the “teachers” often perform no coursework at all. They ante up a fee, and quickly reap that amount several times over annually (from us).
“Nursing candidates who allegedly participated in the scheme would pay as much as $15,000 for the fraudulent diplomas”
They overpaid.
My medical and law degrees from Harvard cost me only the price of a couple cracker jack boxes.
The nurses that are involved with this took and passed their board exams and are working as nurses. Crappy nurses? Perhaps.
I see the story as there being corruption in most areas of life in America that used to not be. We really are pretty similar to what we think of as corrupt banana republic countries, up here on our high horse.
Would be nice if they ID the schools.
What is next fake MD licenses?
I guess dumbing down math and English course content has not worked!
“Paying for the uninsured. That’s why.”
that’s exactly right ...
They still had to pass the boards which means the have the knowledge, so they only missed the indoctrination.
