Yeah, anyone that has known cops that’s not protected won’t like them, especially not now. They’ve earned it. Fully.
It’s sad to see what they are, but like a cop will tell you.. Ignorance is no excuse for being wrong.
I’ve had several encounters with cops. Police have always been respectful and helpful, in my experience. (I’m not aware of being somehow ‘protected’.)
