I’ve been watching the raw tapes on CNN (yeah I know). Maybe I missed something, but I didn’t specifically see any beating. I saw the police tackling Tyre and a lot of chaos and blurry video. Now I see a handcuffed Tyre sitting against a car. What did I miss??
“ The hype? To stir division, distrust and anger among ordinary people. And, to increase ratings and clicks.”
Yes.
Goodness - by the looks of it, this is egregious!
Was that on video? I must have missed it.
If they weren’t so fattened up on donuts and fried chicken, it would have only taken one to arrest him.
“The hype? To stir division, distrust and anger among ordinary people.”
You got to wonder why the police pulling a citizen out of their vehicle and beating them to death would cause distrust.
Think it might be personal? Over a woman? Some kind of payback? Be interesting to know if they crossed paths before.
From what I’ve been told by friends from law school that practice in Western Arkansas, Memphis PD is known to use excessive force. I don’t know the facts here, but one attorney friend told me 15 years ago that someone was eventually going to get killed.
Ok, Video 3 at about 1:35 or so is where it goes from ‘bad’ to ‘wow’.
Sorry, Eastern Arkansas.
Exactly.
Here’s the thing for me is no one can tell me that five cops were outliers in that department and that against all odds they were together in just a sad coincidence to kill Nichols.
Nope, they were very likely typical of this department. And this whole ‘Scorpion’ unit thing sounds like their leadership INTENDED for them to go out doing this kind of thing.
Naturally, there won’t be any changes to policing after this. It’ll happen again.
It is sad and it is disgusting.
I had to throw up after seeing these tapes of more brutality, more of man’s inhumanity to man.
Let those that burn it pay for the repairs.
I depends on why he was pulled over, if it was for running a red light, then yes, if he was a murder suspect then no.

On the video from the street pole camera you can see one of the cops roundhousing Tyre Mike-Tyson style while the other cops held him. I lost count but it was at least five solid punches to the face.
In the pole video, when they first have the guy on the ground, one of the cops can be seen kicking him in the head a few times with the others holding him.
Later, just before the guy is sitting against the police car, you can see two cops holding the guy up, standing, while a third cop clocks him right in the head a few times with his fist.
In one of the body cam videos, you can clearly hear a cop say he was going to beat the f*** out of the guy, then proceeds to clock him a few times with a collapsible baton while the other cops hold him.
Poor guy is in panic mode. He fears for his life, and he was right to do so!
5 on 1 is never a good look for the police.
Did they have to kick him in the head?
I hope all five fat f%@&$ go away for a long long time!
The powers that be want riots.
When they had to pull him out of the car, he hadn’t been searched for a weapon.
Why was he resisting so physically? When he ran & was caught again, he still couldn’t be searched. He was kicking & fighting….
high on drugs, maybe?
I’m shocked at the strength of the victim. He looks like a tall fairly skinny guy. He was able to escape two cops who were trying to cuff him at the initial stop. When they finally caught up with him a few blocks away four cops continued to have trouble cuffing him. Pepper spray and tasing him didn’t subdue him
Does anyone know why the victim was stopped in the first place?
