If one hand was on the hammer and the other on the drink….Who opened the door?
Good comments.
On the listening device issue it would be fairly easy for security to routinely “sweep” the house as needed—and of course some high tech snooping can go through glass at least—if not other materials.
The only “innocent” explanation for this whole thing I can come up with is that Paul was stone drunk, did not turn on the alarm, and any outside vehicle security was asleep on the job.
I suppose none of the folks involved would want to brag about all that if it were true.
“What I don’t understand is why the perp was standing there at the door”
They say he was a crazy person.
Do we know why he came to the Pelosi house?
“They say he was a crazy person.”
This whole thing doesnt pass the smell test.
And holding a beverage.
He came to talk to Nancy. Here is his full explanation, aka confession.
Apparently there's security video showing DePape showing up with a backpack and a hammer and breaking in.
Still very odd with Paul Pelosi carrying a drink around. The 911 call only adds to the confusion.
To bad none of the times match
Pauli P needed to fill his hand with a handgun not a glass of whatever.
Pauli was within his rights to drop the intruder.
He was only left with the choice of go along get along til the police arrived.
Good question. It looks like it’s being opened like in a movie when a camera enters a room. Its hard to tell how far pelosi and his friend are inside the house.
“Can anyone explain why he did not immediately bolt to the protection of the police?”
He thought they might see it as an attack and shoot him?
Did you make out what the discussion was as they approached the door?
The time stamp on the break in show 5:10am.
Time stamp on the body cam shows 9:30pm
I think the body cams are universal time, while the Capital police videos are set to Washington DC Eastern, where they’re monitored.
Someone pointed out the time stamp on the video doesn't line up. It's one thing if it's a hole-in-wall store, but not when it's a million dollar home where the Speaker of the House resides with Capitol Police protection.
Paul Pelosi: “hammer me like chopped meat, big boy!”
Whack job: “uhhh, Ok!”
Am I the only one wondering why an 82 year old man with a history of abusing alcohol is alone in a large house? No hired help? No family with him? No security guards?
If he had fallen down and not been able to get up, for example if he broke a hip, or had a heart attack or stroke, he could have laid there for hours.
No one else in the house? No security system to alert police that there had been a break in? Patio door that had easily broken glass? No basic security measures? No dog to bark at strangers?
