I do not agree. Why would there be a length of time after after a brutal rape is reported? There is no reason other than, it takes time to concoct a false claim.
Not to sound condescending, but no duh...
The time coming forward after a brutal rape ABSOLUTELY matters. If this young lady is telling the truth, then obviously compassion is warranted. But thats why we have due process. Accusing someone nearly 6 months after the fact raises questions.

Every woman/girl I know guards her drink at a bar.
In the opening graphic on the St Francis University web site, the camera pans past every other feature of the campus and zeroes in on the football field, lingering there. No student buildings, no quad, no library, no Christian or Catholic symbol or statue—just football. Disgusting, particularly now.

Yes, I had a few diverse experiences in Philly, as a young-to-middle aged woman:
1. home burglary
2. attempted home invasion while I was home
3. property theft at work
4. street robbery
5. car theft
6. armed robbery at stop sign with car window down
7. street mugging on Halloween
8. attempted mugging of my 10-year-old child
9. property theft at a university class
9. arson on sidewalk in front of house
10. theft of large flower planter from front step
11. theft of auto tags
12. vandalism with dog feces
I’ve been happy in the exurbs ever since I moved twenty+ years ago. But I still have PTSD.

Rape victims don't always report the crime right away. Here are some of the reasons why.
I had a business and was also involved in many organizations, and was out and about a great deal. Except for the neighborhood around the university starting out, I lived in fairly safe areas. But women (I’m small), the elderly and children are natural targets for the lazy evil cowards who are street criminals.
See post 71. If you have never been raped and brutalized, you really don’t know how scared the victims are to come forward.

Good going! My own brothers are the same, and neither one recognizes what I went through living in a city. They thought it was all my fault. I am very careful, but I am a small woman. It’s stay inside always except with a large escort, or go out and have a normal civic life, and take your chances.
I’m glad, too, that I survived. I’ve traveled all over the U.S. and quite a few foreign countries, so a certain amount of difficulty is somewhat proportional. But Philly—wow. I still scare people who startle me—I jump so much if someone comes unexpectedly around the corner of a store aisle or the like.

Have some respect for actual facts—many rapes actually happen, including rapes that were not in any way "asked for," including rapes of males and of children.

There is no excuse for not reporting a brutal or violent rape unless the rapist was Bill Clinton, and he was the sitting Attorney General at the time.
