At midnight Tuesday, AT&T's DirecTV cut Newsmax's signal, immediately shutting the network off from more than 13 million customers of the satellite service, DirecTV Stream, and U-Verse.
This is the second time in the past year AT&T has moved to cancel a conservative channel, with DirecTV deplatforming OAN in April.
Despite Newsmax being the 4th highest-rated cable news channel in the nation, a top 20 cable news channel overall, and watched by 25 million Americans on cable alone, according to Nielsen, DirecTV said it was taking the step as a "cost-cutting" measure and would never pay Newsmax a cable license fee.
DirecTV pays cable license fees to all top 75 cable channels and to all 22 liberal news and information channels it carries. Almost all of these channels are paid hefty license fees significantly more than Newsmax was seeking — and despite the fact that most of the channels have much lower ratings than Newsmax.

Newsmax carries Trump material if the plan is to promote DeSantis I think Fox will carry water for DeSantis and hurt Trump.

I cancelled DirecTV before it was cool to cancel DirecTV.
Fox news is glad to see upstarts camceled.
I wpuldn’t be surprised if they were involved.
Fox is the Establishments tool to keep us distracted and under control. It will never go away.
It exists to make us angry about Christmas trees and Dr. Seuss books and ignore the real scandals in our country.
Methinks this is Newsmax and DirecTV negotiating over fees, etc.

DiectTV is AT&T — AT&T is a malicious corp.
Yesterday, my good friend from Ohio, (my former home) and I were talking. Ironically, she said she simply can NOT watch FOX anymore and has gone to Newsmax thru AT&T and loves it! I explained that we don’t get it in our area of SC. This morning she texted me and said it had been removed from the AT&T lineup. She said, who does this benefit……..FOX.
Newsmax streams free on multiple free streaming platforms.
But people keep on wasting money subscribing to services like DirectTV to watch many programs they can get for free, including free over the air channels. They just fork out the cash.

Has AT and T put money in the pot of Ron DeSantis? I don’t know where he got that 200 million is it? Gotta be big players.
I believe the reason they cancelled Newsmax is to deprive President Trump of an audience, since Newsmax carries many of his rallies.

Happens every year over one or more local channels or networks (ABC/NBC/CBS) and the big cable or satellite providers.
The particular network “goes dark” for a week or so until they settle for a lower payment.
We dumped ATT because of CNN. You should look into Starlink, Elons ISP system. I doubt they will dump FNC. Why would they? They are as bad as the rest 90% of the time.
