Actually it is out of the room of current political possibility, which makes your electoral math beyond stupid.
The last Republican candidate to carry less than 7 states was Goldwater in 1964. Which was a unique situation, with a President being assassinated, another President being sworn in and a Presidential Election all happening in about a year.
Since 1964 the worst performances were Bush 41 in 1992 with 18 states & Dole with 19 in 1996.(Perot was involved in both elections)
