Vladimir Putin plans to seize US weapons left behind during the evacuation of Afghanistan.
Kremlin insider claims that the Russian despot is in negotiations with the Taliban to recognise the nation's government.
In return, Putin wants US equipment snatched from Afghanistan by the Taliban to be handed over - according to Telegram channel General SVR - which claims to be fed information by a Kremlin insider.

Let that sink in. Over $100 billion in equipment abandoned in Afghanistan and another $150 billion plus an additional 31 Abraham’s tanks ($8.9 million each) given to Ukraine. No big deal, but the IRS still wants you and me to report every transaction over $600.

Just think of the free technology they’re getting to develop their own lethal toys.
So the Taliban can sell them to the Russians or the Chi coms............great move not going in to scuttle them, hell they should never been left in the first place.
I do not think a bunch of 20 year old humvees, and worn out helicopters will help Russia much.
The real issue in Afghanistan was the millions of rounds of ammo and small arms. Russia does not use 5.56.
I hate Xiden. The withdrawal from Afghanistan was botched. Butch he gave them a bu ch of worn out equipment as far as I can tell.
If Russia starts having to arm troops with used M4 carbines in a 5.56 caliber it means Russia is on the skids.

Those magnificent Abrams have never really gone up against a modernly equipped adversary. What the heck is going on? I thought the Ruskies were down for the count again as recently as last fall.

Its a bit difficult to understand what the Russians would want from Afghanistan. There wasnt much there that the Russians seem to need at this point. There are thousands of Humvees and MRAPs, plus infantry weapons. Also body armor, etc.
But what do I know. Maybe the Russians are so short of equipment for their conscripts that they are willing to go for that? Not enough AKs, body armor and trucks?
I would think that by now Afghanistan should have sold most of the good equipment.
