Given that they’re trying to railroad Trump for basically the same thing that they all do, all the time, of course he’s going to downplay the issue. Unlike him though (because Trump had the undeniable authority to declassify the stuff), Pence is likely guilty of a crime and so is Biden and so are probably hundreds of high level people in DC who think they law is for little people.

I'm no fan of Pence, but President Trump is right. If they found documents that "could" be classified, someone planted it. It is how the FBI and the DOJ swing. They don't care about Pence, but will do anything to smear Trump.

Yes, Biden has been guilty of breaking the law for his whole political career. For a lifetime he got away with huge crimes. He does head a political Crime Family.

At my last duty station in the USAF, I was the NCO tasked to update the Top Secret records in our shop.   It could get tedious with the various instructions on how to delete and replace pages, paragraphs, sentences or words, all initialed and dated in the margins with the proper reference to the papers attached.

In an executive office that job would fall to a secretary or other underling, who would have to "ride heard" on the executive to properly control classified documents and materials.

Congress has special viewing rooms to control classified documents.

They're the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (acronymed SCIFs and pronounced "skiffs") that serve as secure rooms where those with top-secret clearance can view some of the country's most classified information.
What do you want to bet that Biden and Pence, each thinking they were above the law while in Congress, didn't obey the controls?

And As Vice President and President of the Senate?   Forget about it!
