A lawyer for former Vice President Mike Pence discovered about a dozen documents marked as classified at Pence’s Indiana home last week, and he has turned those classified records over to the FBI, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Damn straight!!! In my experience, the stuff gets signed out, and SOMEONE periodically reviews the sign-outs to ask "are they done with it yet?"

This kind of stuff means NO ONE is checking, because otherwise, someone would be noticing. Either that, or this stuff wasn't even controlled, just stamped with a classified marking. Which could also mean it's an example of over-classification, like maybe the lunchroom menu being SECRET or something.
