A lawyer for former Vice President Mike Pence discovered about a dozen documents marked as classified at Pence’s Indiana home last week, and he has turned those classified records over to the FBI, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

It’s all very curious. It seems there ought to be some process of keeping track - and you’re right, if a sitting President can declassify anything he likes, with no documentation, how does the Archivist even know he’s missing something?

The first part is true. But if that were the case there would need to be some record of it to prevent what is happening now.
If they were declassified, they should be accessible through FOIA.
This is little bit is enough for the media to work with to cover for Biden.

I would think the Trump documents were mostly to do the conspiracy to overthrow his government — the Comey, Brennan, Clinton, et al, cabal. He would not trust the archives to keep them safe and neither would I.
