I wouldn’t assume (or rule out) military training. Maybe he just knows dhot placement. It sounds like he had an intended target. Maybe shooting people in the way, or any that impeded his escape. He was certainly easily disarmed at his next stop.

I believe I was the one posting the first mention on this site which was from Heavy.com which said CNN reported it.
CNN had a quick buried line about the marriage certificate proving he came from China to the US.
Then nothing I can find.
Search engines turn it around to tell of immigrants being targeted, not his story.
But they can run but they can’t hide.
The truth will set us free——and get them in trouble.
We never invaded China.
As per CCN:
Tran was an immigrant from China, according to a copy of his marriage license that his ex-wife showed to CNN.
