Russia orders Estonia's ambassador to leave, accuses country of 'total Russophobia'

The diplomatic relations between Russia and Estonia were downgraded on Monday after the latter's ambassador was ordered to leave Russia, as the country was accused of "total Russophobia".

As the Estonian ambassador was expelled, the Russian foreign ministry announced on Monday that the charge d’affaires will head the diplomatic mission of the country.

"The ambassador of the Estonian Republic will have to leave the Russian Federation on February 7," stated the foreign ministry said in a statement, adding that the diplomatic representation of Estonia will also be downgraded from now.

According to the statement, the measure was adopted after the staff levels were reduced by Estonia at the Russian embassy in Tallinn.

The ministry added that the step was taken in retaliation for Estonia’s “new unfriendly step to radically reduce the size of the Russian Embassy in Tallinn.”

“In recent years, the Estonian leadership has purposefully destroyed the entire range of relations with Russia. Total Russophobia, the cultivation of hostility towards our country have been elevated by Tallinn to the rank of state policy,” read the statement issued by the Russian foreign ministry on Monday.

Earlier this month, the Estonian foreign ministry asked Russia to cut down the number of staff present in the embassy to eight diplomats and 15 technical, service and administrative staff members to “reach parity in embassy staff” by February 1.

On January 11, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu, in a statement, said that Estonia's bilateral ties with Moscow have been reduced “to the absolute minimum” since Russia sent its troops to capture Ukrainian regions.

“Now we are setting a limit to the number of Russian diplomats working in Estonia in order to achieve parity. Today’s step is in correlation with the low point of our relations in general,” the minister said.

Very crazy thing to say.

Just a word of wisdom: “if Russia to burn that anybody else to burn too”. We all go down together.

If Hitler was a Russophobe, why did Russia ally with Hitler’s Nazis from 1939 to 1941?

Why did Russia jointly attack Poland as an ally of nazi Germany?

Why did Russia supply Hitler’s Nazis eith oil and gas and other supplies to attack France and the UK?

Hitler was Russia’s pal

Politics. France and UK signed treaty with same Hitler in 1938.

But Poland splitted Czechoslovakia with Hitler in same 1938.

So USSR not Russia(!) also signed a treaty with same Hitler in 1939. WHy not? If France-UK-Poland showed a good example.

Poland took a very small part that the Czechs took from Poland in 1920. There wasn’t any agreement with Germany, the Germans didn’t care as they knew Poland was next on their list anyway.

Small or not doesn’t matter with how Hitler cared. But Poland did split a foreign country together with Hitler in 1938. So in 1939 there came Poland turn for a same. I think it s a GOD justice.

No, they did not ally with Hitler as you Russians did

Russia was an ally with Hitler for 2 years in which Russia and Germany together attacked Poland and Russia supplied Hitler with gas and oil for Hitler to attack France

Russia was Hitler's ally for two years

Николай - you’re probably a nice guy, not a Putin propaganda guy.

People do not hate Russia or Russians. We know that this war is Putin’s war, not something you ordinary Russians want.

I would just suggest that you read a bit about Russia’s participation in World War 1 and 2. It wasn’t innocent victim as Russian history books teach (and I’ve seen them).

Poles, Romanians, Hungarians, Baltic citizens, Czechs, Slovaks etc. do not see Russians as “liberators from the Nazis” as your history books teach you. They see you as the other evil that defeated the Nazi evil and replaced one evil with another.

Russian rule from 1870 to 1914 is looked back in horror - and Russian dominance from 1945 to 1989 is despised. In both times, the Tsars (or Red Tsars) made people hate the Russian government. Yet Poles, Romanians, etc. knew that the Tsars and their boyars (or commissars or politburo or party members) oppressed the Russian people as much or worse.

I knew Russians who came to Warsaw or Bucharest or Berlin for Erasmus and were shocked at what was not told to them.

The same thing is happening now - your rulers are making Russia despised.

This did not have to be

Putin could have used the money from the commodity boom to raise millions of Russians out of the poverty level, to improve the public transport in Moscow, to export Russian culture like the Japanese or South Koreans do.

You wonder why the Ukrainians and Belarussians are leaving your orbit? The reason is Putin and his hard power projection. If you had used soft power, this would never have happened.

I am just very, very sorry for Russians like you and I hope that you get a government that cares about you and not lining its own pockets with super yachts

C’mon guy you need to be more subtle. This BS you peddle here I won’t buy. I see your deeds which opposite of your words.

This war is just war for liberation of ethic Russians and Novorossiya from Ukraine oppressions. So Russia fights for freedom of our people.

Poles, Romanians, Hungarians, Baltic citizens, Czechs, Slovaks etc. do not see Russians as “liberators from the Nazis” as your history books teach you. ==

We in Russia know it. They all was collaborators with Hitler and licked his boots.

Putin could have used the money from the commodity boom to raise millions of Russians out of the poverty level, to improve the public transport in Moscow, to export Russian culture like the Japanese or South Koreans do. ==

You should visit Moscow before you tell me such obvious bullshit.

Russians towns today look much better than Paris or New York. Also Russians not poor. As much as I know my acquittances. The most own their own places to live without 30 years of mortgage. The most have cars too.

You wonder why the Ukrainians and Belarussians are leaving your orbit? ==

Belorussians(see the name of a nation) are same Russians like we are. They won’t leave us because that will be betrayal of who they are.

Ukies are just traitors of Russian World. They are former Russians and from same ethic roots but got corrupted by eurotrash and changed their name to ukies. I think this war punishes them for their treason.

I am just very, very sorry for Russians like you ==

Be better sorry for yourself living in between of Sadomites and Satanists who burn Quran.

They all did don’t lie to me. They partitioned Czechoslovakia in 1938. Also Poland was same ally of same Hitler and even took a part Czechoslovakia from him. Do you blame Poland, don’t you?

Also it was SOVIET UNION not Russia in 1939. And Soviet Union signed with Hitler AFTER France-UK-Poland signed with him too. THEY created this precedent.

SO stop hypocrisy and don’t try to dupe me. We know history good.

You do also realize one of the reasons Poland did what it did, was that Benes, after Munich, grew closer to the Soviets, and was basically begging Moscow to go to war with Poland to secure the area for the Czechs.

So there were no saints in this matter.

” Also Poland was same ally of same Hitler “

Nope - Poland wasn’t an ally of Hitler.

It acted horribly with Cieszyn, but it was not an ally of Hitler.

And the Soviet Union was Russian speaking, ruled from Moscow, led by Russians

The Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact was a non-aggression pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union that enabled those powers to partition Eastern Europe between them. The pact was signed in Moscow on 23 August 1939 by German Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop and Soviet Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Molotov

If you say it was the USSR that allied with Nazi Germany, then the “Great Patriotic war” was the USSR fighting, not Russia

“We all go down together.”

So be it. But the West surrendering to the Russian gangsters is NOT going to happen.

Sometime soon the US will be giving the Ukrainians some 200-450 Abrams tanks and they’re probably going to have more than a few American volunteers to crew them.

Just to remind you: In the First Gulf War the US lost exactly NO Abrams tanks in the battles against hundreds of Russian tanks.

In the Second Guld War the US lost ONE Abrams tank against the Iraqis who again lost hundreds of Russian tanks.

You people are about to get to hurt. Bad.

If you want to commit national suicide over your dictator’s ego then that’s your choice.

Fine with me. But it is YOUR decision after all. Better explain this to your children why they must go down because of some political ambitions of some hypocritical folk in power.

You are ignorant for sure. Just check this. A lot of blown Abrams tanks.

As I said you get everything you wish to other people. Russian proverb “if you dig hole in ground for somebody - you dig it for yourself”.

Poland had same kind of treaty with same Hitler. BUT they signed it long BEFORE Soviet Union. In 1934.

https://www.britannica.com/event/German-Polish-Nonaggression-Pact-1934

It is under this treaty they partitioned Czechoslovakia with Hitler.

Yeah that is right. There is a lot of war veterans all over former USSR not only in Russia. Russia was a part of USSR so she was just most important and powerful but anyways a part of whole effort.

Those ukies fought Hitler too. Not all of them so. Lot of them was on side of Hitler so.
