Speech contained “obscenely violent pornographic” material, suit claims.
A Las Vegas-area school district is facing a lawsuit after two parents claimed their young daughter was required to read a graphic lesbian monologue as part of a school assignment.
Clark County School District responded to the suit this week by claiming that the parents who filed the suit used “hyperbole and incendiary language” in their pleadings, “demoniz[ing]” the “good faith efforts” by the school district to address their concerns.
The lawsuit, filed by Candra and Terrell Evans, claims their daughter “C.E.” was forced to “perform obscene, sexual activity as a class assignment.” The filing accuses the daughter’s teacher of “unlawful grooming and abuse of a minor student.”
The assignment that launched the lawsuit directed students to write their own personal monologues, after which students would randomly select a fellow classmate’s monologue to read aloud.
The suit claims that “R.E.” was given an “obscenely violent pornographic monologue” to read, one in which a lesbian character tells her boyfriend that she has begun a sexual relationship with another woman; the character graphically refers to the boyfriend’s genitals and at one point describes sex with him as “like a pencil sharpener that keeps getting jammed.”
Candra Evans was the subject of a viral tweet last year when she appeared before the Clark County School District Board of Trustees to read the assignment given to her daughter.
The board generated outrage when it cut off Evans’s microphone during the reading, with a trustee criticizing her for using “profanity” during the meeting and asking her to exercise “decorum” while speaking.
To add your name to the growing Nevada ping list, FReepmail me...
When I was a kid, we all knew which NV counties had legalized prostitution.
Now, none of us knew what prosthleization was...but we knew where to find it.
All of this insanity brought to you buy CHILDLESS single white leftist women with no stake in the future of society.
It ought to be!
Assuming they are even women at all and not men pretending to be women.

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Call me a “homophobe” with indignation, and I’ll reply “Yeah, sure. Whatever.” and move on.
Call me a “Pedophilophobe” with indignation, amd I’ll pull out my 9mm, shoot you in the head, and reply “Exactly right, but now less so.”
I don’t need to wait to enlist, be trained, then shipped overseas to kill an enemy who threatens our kids and way of life.
It would be illegal if you or I did it with our kids or the neighborhood kids
But elitists exempt themselves from the laws they impose on us unwashed.
When I was her age in an ordinary public school near Baltimore in the 60s, I was tasked to recite from memory Edmund Rostand’s soliloquy by Cyrano de Bergerac about his comically large nose. Members of our class also memorized and performed Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
How times have changed.
That’s smart!
We’ll see who has the last laugh at the Second Coming of Jesus, us or those “elitists”.
good, may she prevail and financially bankrupt the morally bankrupt school!
In the old days a problem like this would have been solved forcefully.
At that age, we did “Hamlet” in our all-girls Catholic Prep School.
I played the title role.
I can still recite the soliloquoys.
You played Hamlet?
