I entered the semiconductor industry as a student in the late 1970s. Learned very quickly that the industry cycled.

The unethical cancellation of the Space Shuttle Program in 2011 forced 200,000 highly qualified white and blue collar workers to start over. Brutal, especially for workers with children. In other news, there is always an upside to down times.
