And he is making BOLD, take no prisoners decisions.
The precedent has been established . . .
Now, let's go GET 'em, McCarthy !
He “upheld” the firing because he basically said the case doesn’t belong in his court. I hate this when it happens to cases conservative people bring.
As long as he doesn’t descend into a dictator in a suit behavior...one should always question what is behind such decisions as his. If the decision is warranted then fine. But if it looks like a simple dismissal of someone because they won’t bend a knee so to speak that is an animal of a totally different stripe. Not saying he is wrong but be wary of abuse of power...by anyone.
I have always questioned authority...and it has caused me problems on more than one occasion. Just because you have a title in front of your name or wear an expensive suit doesn’t make you omnipotent...:)
One thing you can say about DeSantis is that he sticks to his guns once he makes a decision. He also seems to hire competent attorneys to represent the State on his decisions.
But, but, wait.... I learned on FR yesterday he’s deep state because he went to Harvard/Yale... ???
Once again Florida Gov Ron DeSantis leads the way in dealing with misguided District Attorneys.
Now we have about 30 other GOP Governors, so why are not these other spineless GOP Governors doing the same???????????????
I also hate it when leftists bring cases to the Federal courts that should be settled in state courts. This case was not a Federal issue.
“Now we have about 30 other GOP Governors, so why are not these other spineless GOP Governors doing the same???????????????”

Good question. Given how well DeSantis’ policies are working, and the accolades that are being heaped upon him by a large portion of the conservative voting base, why aren’t more GOP governors following his lead? Big donors money? Funding by the GOPe. The answer to such question usually remains “follow the money”.
This is why their are 12(b)(6) Motions: Failure to state a claim, upon which relief can be granted.
While I appreciate your post, we’ve got wildly out-of-control dictators on the left wanting to regulate every little detail about your daily life. I’m not worried one bit about strong, executive leadership actions by conservatives who are gradually righting our ship.
Most excellent
Perhaps you ought to follow DeSantis more
This was a good call on his part.
You need to be more informed
I am very well informed on politics...more so than most. I always question those who are in positions of authority...regardless of party. I didn’t say the call was bad...
I worry about anybody who gets power...especially the power to control lives, opinions, etc. Power corrupts...absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I agree with keeping your eyes on those in positions of authority.
That said this was a good move by Governor Desantis. The attorney in question stated publicly, and more than once, that he would not prosecute according to state law. He was a wokester attorney general of the California variety.
He gave the Governor plenty of rope to hang him with. He even tied the knot and put it around his neck basically daring Desantis to take action.
Governor Desantis pulled the lever.
Damn right — discharge people who won’t obey the law, won’t obey their sworn oath, or insubordination.
FL gives its Gov the ability to remove lower officials, though the legislature can overturn that IIRC. Not sure such power is common or as broad in many other states. Can’t blame others for not using what they lack. However those lacking, but like FL example might lobby to be granted such powers.
Not to mention they can get reelected without dirty tricks.
