Good question. Given how well DeSantis’ policies are working, and the accolades that are being heaped upon him by a large portion of the conservative voting base, why aren’t more GOP governors following his lead? Big donors money? Funding by the GOPe. The answer to such question usually remains “follow the money”.

FL gives its Gov the ability to remove lower officials, though the legislature can overturn that IIRC. Not sure such power is common or as broad in many other states. Can’t blame others for not using what they lack. However those lacking, but like FL example might lobby to be granted such powers.
