Billionaire investor Nelson Peltz has launched an all-out, MAGA-style assault on Disney CEO Bob Iger, vowing to bring “leadership mentality” back to the media giant’s boardroom with a “Restore The Magic” campaign.

After years of tanking stocks, uber-woke failures, and the loss of faith by many in “The Happiest Place On Earth,” Peltz, who already owns 0.5 percent of Disney through his Trian Partners firm, is looking for a seat on the company’s board.

The Restore The Magic website went live with stark criticism of the company’s “poor” corporate governance, strategy and operations, and capital allocation.

He’s going to had a difficult — if not impossible — task in removing all the groomers from Disney.

“He’s going to had a difficult — if not impossible — task in removing all the groomers from Disney.”

Agree - if the Groomers are gone, are there any people to replace them?

This has nothing to do with anything except making money.

Disney “had” irreplaceable brands...which it has proceeeded to destroy in an orgy of wokeness. I am unconvinced that those lost brands can be resurrected.

Iger has tanked Star Wars and other franchises. But he is also given credit for Disney+ which everybody and their mother subscribes to for some reason and a string of live action remakes, which everybody agrees suck but people flood into theaters to see anyway. So I don’t see an easy overthrow. Normies are just so habituated to gorging on massmarket branded franchise entertainment swill and disney has monopolized it.

I’m surprised he only owns 1/2 a percent. The board can tell him to buzz off if that’s all he’s got. You really need at least 5 or 10 percent to get any kind of leverage.

Blocks of stock are always available at some price. Maybe some hedge funds or private equity want out. Pelts just has to put up $10 or $20 billion, he’ll get the stock.

“ You really need at least 5 or 10 percent to get any kind of leverage.”

He plans to put up some candidates for the board and campaign to Disney shareholders to elect them. Part of his platform is to bring back the company’s dividend, so I suspect there will be shareholders who support his candidates for that reason alone. Aside from the fact the stock is trading about where it was five years ago. Dead money. (But the company has had enough resources to pay huge salaries to top people, and a going-away $24 million for Chapek, I think I read)

“criticism of the company’s ‘poor’ corporate governance, strategy and operations”

Nothing specific mentioned concerning the elephant in the room: Pedophilia and extreme wokeness?
