That chain of events “severely undercut[s]” the White House’s pledge to work in “good faith” with the committee, Jordan wrote.

Contempt charges have no teeth unless you refer it to the DOJ for criminal charges and only if the DOJ isn’t a lacky for that political party

Actually, with contempt of congress, they do not have to rely on the DOJ. The Sergeant-at-Arms of the House or Senate makes the arrest and drags the person before the appropriate body. Though I don’t think they can charge the President with contempt of congress, since he has immunity.
Congress has a chance now to put a big crimp on Biden’s spending it’s the only tool they have for now.
