One of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's top advisers has asked to be fired after a statement that sparked widespread outrage, Ukrainian media reported this morning.

Commenting on a Russian missile strike on an apartment block in the city of Dnipro on January 14, 2022, which killed dozens of civilians, Oleksii Arestovych said the missile hit the building after being hit by a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile.

This is also the version announced yesterday by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who stated that Russia is not shelling civilian objects, but only overt or covert military targets.

War is messy. I doubt if either side is deliberately targeting random apartment buildings.

I agree, and I also believe this guy told the truth which isn’t acceptable.

Besides command and control, intelligence, and weapons - one can tell the US deep state also dispatched its media and political consultants to manage Ukraine’s government.

No nuance, detail or hint of truth must impinge on the rigid narrative.

No, this happened a few times in the UK during ww2 and the Brits always got away with saying it was ‘Nazi terror bombin’, even in broad daylight in April 1945.

Expected - he was HONEST, for once.

I doubt if either side is deliberately targeting random apartment buildings.

Remember, Russia is running out of missiles. In fact, the few they have remaining only have guidance systems because Russians took the computer chips out of stolen Ukraine washing machines at the start of the war. So what better way to spend your few remaining guided-missiles - than by firing them at random apartment buildings? /s

It is likely that the apartment building was not a deliberate target, but Russia is still responsible for firing the missile at Ukraine, not the Ukrainians for trying to shoot it down. This would not have happened it Russia had not fired the missile in the first place.

You would know about lying: this isn't what he said. He said the missile may have been hit by Ukrainian AA, causing it to go into the building.

Ukraine doesn't have any missiles big enough to do that kind of damage.

A development in modern combat using precision missiles is that sometimes a defender can ascertain the target of a missile and determine if the target is populated or non populated.

Additionally, sometimes a defender has a window of interception over a non populated area versus a window of interception over a populated area.

This requires a decision on WHEN to intercept, and WHETHER to intercept, as the enemy missile warhead will likely explode when the missile falls.

In the case of this "resignation" the interception was executed such that the missile fell on a populated area.

Here the Lies have a twofold purpose: Assign blame within the Ukrainian Military, and Assign blame outside the Ukrainian Military.

I would be quite happy if the senile pants-crapping sock puppet Biden threw a clot and died.

This has nothing to do with Biden, except incidentally insofar as his erection as President caused the same group of Obamabot cowards to go back into office, which did much to prompt Putin's invasion. If Trump had remained in office, there would have been no invasion.

You’re right. And Ukraine doesn’t have anything that can intercept the KH-22, which was designed to take out American aircraft carriers by descending from high altitude at Mach 3+. And Zelensky’s PR chief probably thought admitting they couldn’t intercept it might be worse than saying “we almost intercepted it.”

But an S-300 could have knocked it off target.

Either way, I am sure neither side is targeting apartment buildings.

But the bigger picture is what are the Russians doing with those missiles? My guess is they are getting ready to use them and the Zircons to take out the bridges over the Dnieper.

Not sure how the Russians could convert anti-ship missiles to any kind of accurate ground attack missile, as those usually have radar or infrared seekers to find ships. So how could they use them to target anything specific? I would guess they just fired it off in the direction of Dnipro. Maybe its seeker saw the building as a ship or someone preprogrammed a flight path to somewhere in Dnipro, with all the "accuracy" that would imply.

As far as the bridges go, aren't the long ones already blown, like the Antonovsky near Kherson? Smaller bridges would be better blown by sappers or artillery rather than waste a longer range missile. This was in all likelihood simply another terror attack.

Oleksii Arestovych is a publicist who works for Andre Yermak who runs the unelected and misnamed Presidential Administration. Arestovych was assigned by Yermak to ‘mind’ Zelenski who has no real power and acts as the publicist for Ukraine.

Our own Banderites called out for a NAFO Article 5 today. They’re buzzing like bees. I hope Z doesn’t fire off another Polish missile. Milley is in Poland today contemplating Moar War and I’m sensing trouble.
