MLk is the only American to have a specific holiday. Washington and Lincoln were relegated to “Presidents’ Day”.

I think America reached perfectly equal opportunity and race-neutral outlook about 25-30 years ago. Since then, we have regressed, become more obsessed with race, and have instituted reverse discrimination against whites (and Asians) in favor of less qualified blacks.
No, I believe that it will be supplanted in national memory by the Juneteenth holiday.

And if folks knew his real history there’d probably be even fewer.

That is beyond hideous. Of course, King was a serial philanderer, so maybe this monstrosity is telling that nearly hidden part of his story. Shrug. If you look at the photo this thing is supposedly representing, King is giving Coretta a big hug, but she is not reciprocating.

Try telling people the MLK day holiday is to be rescinded as a day off work......I bet that number changes dramatically. 😏

I’m good with Presidents Day. When I was a kid, we used to celebrate Washington’s birthday on Feb. 21 or 22, and Lincoln’s birthday on Feb. 12 (IIRC). They just combined those two. When I think of Presidents Day, I only think of them.
Screw the others as relating to this holiday.
