The purpose of a political party is mutual assistance.

A helps B and B helps A. A attracts the pro-life vote. B attracts the pro-gun vote. A is pro-gun but that does not decide his vote. B is pro-life but that does not decide the vote. They are ultimately both single issue voters in a coalition.

The only way to win is to attract a diverse group of voters.

“Desantis would not crack 65 million votes, that is if he is lucky.”

About 6 in 10 Republican and Republican-leaning voters (62%) said they would like to see the GOP nominate a different presidential candidate in 2024 instead of Trump. That figure increased from 55% in July and from 49% in January, as per a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS between Dec. 1 and 7.

When pressed about who they would want to see leading the presidential ticket, 53% of Republican voters said they “just want someone besides Trump.” At least 38% named Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. No other potential Republican candidates, including Utah Sen. Mitt Romney and former Vice President Mike Pence, received a vote higher than 1%.

That being said, 66% of Republicans said they would still vote for Trump if he ends up becoming the Republican party’s nominee for president in 2024. Only 32% said they would unlikely back another Trump bid.

Trump critics here aren’t qualified to polish his shoes. Losers...

Really?

Critics of Trump are ..."losers"?

If you like Trump, my FRiend, that's fine with me.

I like Trump, as a backup mind you. I'm (as of today, could change) voting for DeSantis in my state's primary. If another candidate wins because more of my party wants him or her, fine, I'll vote in the general for that candidate. We are all on the same team, we are just observing the early campaign tests for runs for the nom. I would not call any of us "losers" because we favor a different candidate. We are losers only if we ignore the nom in favor of clinging to an also-ran.

Trump won his election.

repubs won the 2020 house and senate

repubs won this house and senate

So, what we’re really upset with is the collection and counting of ballots

Don't try and talk on an adult level with these handful of Ronlims, their mental deficiencies are on parity with Canuckistan manchild Morrow...who they attempt to give more traction here on FreeRepublic, than Morrow's fellow Marxists give him on Twitter. Think about that.

It’s not just whether Trump can win. It is also whether even a Trump unhobbled by Russiagate can make good appointments, and can actually uproot the Swamp.

It’s not wholly his mouth. He gains from that too. It is Trump’s failure to consistently appoint good people even after the somewhat excusable first round of failures.

Religious services in houses of worship are also permitted, as are recreational activities such as fishing, hunting, walking, running, biking and swimming.

That’s a pretty big difference. The shutdown is what Trump recommended at the behest of Fauci...but we should all remember that we had an example of NYC where in April 2020 the city had 18,000 dead compared to a typical 4500, and as of the end of the month not a single person known to be infected had yet recovered.

Trump has powerful big-picture accomplishments, and has certainly shown the way on those issues and others. He needs to show he can hire good people consistently, and get a good Chief of Staff who can wrangle the details - and not send almost everyone out the door in flames...

Ronlims.

Yes , very low IQs.

Morrow would much rather see Ron DeSantis run, Trump scares the hell out of poor, poor Morrow.

Morrow twitches with Trump Derangement Syndrome, perpetually “triggered” and he would have us live only in his hell.

One can only laugh.

Ronlims...I like it.

He’s the opposite of Trump...they actually complement each other very well.

Trump is a great campaigner. DeSantis is not (although he’s gotten a lot better)

Trump is not a great gov’t executive. DeSantis is a great Gov’t executive. Trump fails in his appointments, DeSantis does not. Trump struggles to get things done in gov’t, DeSantis gets it done.

Sorry. The #1 issue is Election integrity. Until we get that all the others don’t matter as the deep state will continue to pick our politicians.

I’m on the same wagon as you are.

Trump did what he needed to do. He also gave other conservative Republicans some precedence on how to govern for the best interest of the USoA and its legal citizens. And gave them some needed backbone.

I think the GOP needs to groom younger candidates for the future.

DeSantis is not the only strong one out there; he’s just been more vocal.
