After they collaborated with the government to dupe the public, the public has no right to justice?

Was the use of services approved by Musk? Was the use of services before the sale? What were the term of the contract of sale, regarding to current agreements?
I'm not an attorney. Whether Elon Musk owes for their services will depend upon the terms of the purchase.

IIRC-—a person should get a certain amount of notice or compensation in lieu of notice.
Musk fired a number of Calif employees of Twitter.
Calif requires 60 days notice if company has a high number of employees.
Musk ordered them to NOT shoe up for work-—and he said he would pay them () days notice-—in lieu of actually working.
Seems they got a beneficial deal VS the legal deals Calif forces onto businesses in that state.
