Many new streets and monuments have been erected since a new government took over in 2014
This list is part of an ongoing investigative project the Forward first published in January 2021 documenting hundreds of monuments around the world to people involved in the Holocaust. We are continuing to update each country’s list; if you know of any not included here, or of statues that have been removed or streets renamed, please email editorial@forward.com, subject line: Nazi monument project.
Note: In the years since the Maidan uprising brought a new government to Ukraine in 2014, numerous monuments to Nazi collaborators and Holocaust perpetrators have been erected, at times as frequently as a new one each week. …..
the country has been institutionalizing worship of the paramilitary Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, which collaborated with the Nazis and aided in the slaughter of Jews, and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), which massacred thousands of Jews and 70,000-100,000 Poles. A major figure venerated in today’s Ukraine is Stepan Bandera (1909–1959), the Nazi collaborator who led a faction of OUN (called OUN-B); above are his statues in L’viv (left) and Ivano-Frankivsk (right). Many thanks to Per Anders Rudling, Tarik Cyril Amar and Jared McBride for their guidance on Ukrainian collaborators.……..
Stalin was a Nazi collaborator. When are you people going to kick his worthless corpse out of the Kremlin?
“There are neo-Nazis in Ukraine, just as there are in the U.S., and in Russia for that matter. But they are a very marginal group with no political influence and who don’t attack Jews or Jewish institutions in Ukraine.”

Look Nazis are Nazis, they are just hate-filled people who can switch their focus of hate depending on the circumstances. Mark my words, when Ukraine loses this war, and lose it they will, their hatred will not be restricted to Russian speakers, they will start resenting the US for pushing them into this for their own nefarious reasons. And they will notice that many Jews, both in the US administration (Blinken & Nuland for starters) and Zelensky and his crew being Jewish is another thing they will notice. You are blind if you don’t think that Ukrainian anti-Semitism will rear its ugly head after this war. It won’t just be the Russians they are mad at.
Tombs of Suslov, Stalin, Kalinin, Dzerzhinsky, Brezhnev in front of the Moscow Kremlin Wall.
From 1917 until his death in 1926, Dzerzhinsky led the first two Soviet state-security organizations, the Cheka and the OGPU, establishing a secret police
Since you asked, Nikolai Vatutin was killed by the Ukrainian Insurgent Army mentioned as a neo-Nazi group in the original post above.
Mikhail Kovalyov was involved in the Invasion of Poland and in the Winter War. It doesn't appear that he did much against the Nazis, spending most of the war in Siberia. He did participate in the war against Japan in 1945.
Semyon Timoshenko led troops during the first Soviet invasion of Poland in the 1920s (Poland won); he did better against the Poles in the 1930s. He had an up and down career against the Nazis.
When the Uke War started I couldn’t figure out why Pootie was bitchen about the Nazi’s in Ukraine, now I know.
LOL, I believe Ukrainians are very aware of Zelensky being Jewish.
Wow, 1917, more than a Century ago, compared to Uke Nazi Atrocities within the year.
Where’s Gorby?
The only reason the Ukrainian Nazis now claim to be ok with Jews is because the Jewish Ukrainian Oligarch Igor Kolomoisky has been financing the Azov regiment, so they have been temporarily bought off. As soon as that money flow ends with the conclusion of this war, they will go right back to hating Jews again. Don’t be so naïve.
Seriously, what "Uke Nazi Atrocities within the year"? Anything like russian atrocities in Bucha, less than a year ago?
Surprising there are any Ukrainians left after Russia’s Holodomor.
Ukrainians seem to hold a grudge for some reason...
““I think Kolomoisky is super-dangerous,” he said. “He is probably one of the most dangerous oligarchs because he’s one of the ones who’s willing to get his hands dirty.”
Brunson pointed to Kolomoisky’s role in funding the ultra-far-right Azov battalion, a group of Ukrainian fighters alleged to have ties to American white supremacists, per RFE/RL; the State Department has called its political wing a “nationalist hate group,” and human rights workers say it may be a haven for neo-Nazis.
“He was one of the first oligarchs who began to act like a warlord,” Brunson said.”
Stalin starved the Ukrainians out, they sided with the Nazis and the Ukrainian nationalists murdered jews while the Nazis watched. Seems hell keeps returning to the same place
“Seriously, what “Uke Nazi Atrocities within the year”?”

Within the year, not in 2014.
Seriously? No serious critique comes from you, stick with the Propaganda, it’s what you do.
Only thing worse is confederate monuments
I swunny
Interesting - I was inIvano-Frankivsk just a few years ago - and the only thoughts I heard from anyone, anywhere - was a hate for the Nazis that was second only to pretty much all things Russian. Indeed - there seems to almost ber a national shame over what happened- with the Nazi collaborators - a shame for the mass murder of Jews and others.
Then again - the particular group that publishes “Forward” seems to be on the level of relaiblity and honesty as the Southern Poverty Law Center - always looking for excuses to be offended and to list people and organizations as hate groups. So - I’ll have to reach out to my friends in Ukraine and ask about this.
