Despite the Department of Defense rescinding the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, unvaccinated military members are still facing repercussions, including denied benefits, ineligibility for promotion, being non-deployable, and potentially diminished employment prospects for those already discharged.
On Dec. 23, President Biden signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the $858 billion defense spending bill that included a measure repealing the mandate. On Dec. 29, the Defense Department followed suit, rescinding the mandate that has frayed military morale and resulted in the discharge of over 8,000 service members who refused the vaccine.
In rescinding the vaccine mandate, the DOD acknowledged the NDAA requires Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to rescind his Aug. 24, 2021 memo issuing the sweeping order.
Despite the new DOD memo rescinding the August memo, however, the Army said that it didn't apply to the National Guard and Reserves because there was a separate Nov. 30, 2021 memo that hadn't been rescinded.
On Jan. 10, the defense secretary issued another memo, which rescinded the November memo in addition to the August memo.
"The Department will continue to promote and encourage COVID-19 vaccination for all Service members," the Jan. 10 memo reads.

Funny how the Nazi mindset trickles down to the peons who are desperate to control something because they cant control themselves
Thinning the herd is all...
There were "preventatives" out there, taking a little Vit. D3, Zinc, Magnesium regularly builds up your immune system to keep you healthy.
And there were "cures" out there. Ivermectin, L-Lysine, Hydroxychloroquine. YES THEY WORK!!
But for some reason the MSM worked with the CDC and the state health organizations in the US to block people from getting the info about those things and HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF LIVES WERE LOST!
But thousands got rich off the vaccine stocks! - So SAD.
Christmas 2021 friend went to Mass with his lady friend and got covid, she was able to fight it off with her immune system but my friend was sent home with codeine and prednisone and 4 days later his system cleared up. By weeks end he pulled through sufficiently to get vack to work.
I had pneumonia once and because I’m allergic to NSAIDs et al, was put on prednisone and codeine and it worked for that too. I think the prednisone and the codeine just battles the symptoms and then your body takes over and kills off the virus naturally.
Anyone who knows how the military operates knows darn well that rescinding the Mandate does nothing if the brass wants the troops to get the shot
My guess is that anyone who has not gotten the jab and still refuses has already had their career trashed with bad Fitness reports, bad Duty stations, and a dozen other little things vindictive commanders can do. And most circumstances I’m guessing that if you’re not going to get the jab you might as well get out
Unvaccinated service members who had the courage to say no regardless of the cost should be given a medal of the highest order. Personally, I wouldn’t even want to be re-instated.
This country does not deserve their caliber of service.
Someone please explain to me how our military officer corps isn’t CORRUPT TO THE CORE!
Every POS above O-6 retires and goes to work for the “Big” defense contractors.
Lloyd “Raytheon” Austin, please address this.
Silence o te CMS mandate that is causing life threatening shortages in healthcare.
I have taken a 60 percent pay cut to avoid this
