Belarusia's army stepped up its military exercises amid growing fears that a new invasion of Ukraine from the north is imminent. Belarusian and Russian troops have been taking part in joint military exercises for a number of weeks. Last Sunday the Belarusian Defence Ministry announced it was extending its training drills with Putin's army.

Belarus' army is...negligible, and plus to get at Ukraine, it would have to cross the same muddy scrub swampland that bogged the Russians down in February 2022, and through the Chernobyl radiation zone. There are very few roads between Belarus and Ukraine.

Now, I can see Putin trying to pass off his mobiki as Belarussian soldiers and launching more human wave attacks at Kyiv through that morass, but they would be slaughtered.

And then, there's the question as to whether or not Belarus' troops would actually stand for it, or the country too.

Col McGregor claims there are 10 combat ready divisions of Russ/Bel troops in the north versus maybe 1 Uke. Not good odds.

I think what could throw off the hypothetical invasion plan is the presence of militias. Ukraine claims they have 100 militia groups in the north. If they are well armed with anti-tank rockets and drones…well we all remember what happened to the Russian exposed columns when they true to seize Kiev last spring.

Poland could make claims on Western Belarus, as it was part of pre-war Poland, but likely won't. Poland has been supporting Lukashenko's opposition. They could step that up with military aid across the border, but will do so only with NATO, or US, support.

I agree—a NATO Nation with go in for “Humanitarian” Reasons to protect Ukraine with a “No Fly Zone” To protect civilian infrastructures and help feed Ukrainian women and children. Then it will slip, 1,2,3 into WW III. I predict lots of unexpected things happening—things we can not guess about now. What can we expect? 1. A Draft of all residents—men and women. Starting with a lottery. 2. Rationing, gas, food, meat, eggs, shoes, cloth etc... You will pick up your cupons at they grade school—rationing handled by the Teacher’s Union. 3. Taxes to be paid every four months. 4. War bonds taken from paychecks 20% of your pay goes to the war effort. As there is no real difference between men and women—they will be drafted too. Birthing soldiers given free abortions. This time the fighting will be here—in the states.
