Ask the USA who bombed German cities flat, fire bombed Tokyo, and dropped nuclear weapons on two Japanese cities.

I don’t actually believe in war crimes. If it is worth going to war then it is worth killing every man, woman and child. If the problem is not that severe may don’t go to war?

ohhhh...
So you are ok if Ukraine starts demolishing civilian infrastructure in Moscow as well then? Hitting civilian buildings when people are sleeping in it... and so on...?

You’re correct - the nuclear bombs we dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Tokyo firebombing were necessary because of the horrendous costs of invading Japan and the fanatical defense expected from the Japanese defending their homeland. Most agree it was the right thing to do.
Dresden was a bit different in that it made no difference at that point in the war.
It was the Brits that did it so they were paying back the Nazis for the Blitz.
So I think if you weren’t alive at the time you can’t really get it. But the Germans got everything Bomber Harris could drop on them.

Fine
Don’t care about either one.
Would rather see no war.

Quoted from a press conference by NATO spokesman Jamie Shea on May 25, 1999.

"Unfortunately, command and control systems also depend on electricity. If Milosevic really wants his citizens to have water and electricity, all he has to do is accept the NATO terms and we will stop this campaign. Until he does, we will continue to attack targets that supply his army with electricity. If it has consequences for the population, that's their problem."

What would General Sherman if he were attacking the Southern States and the civilians there heated homes with electricity?

Not sure how you could draw that conclusion from my comment...
I hate war... Learned that between Nov 1951 and Jan 1953...

There has never been a “comfortable & nice” war in all of mankind’s history...

It is simple: War is war...

“...THE HAGUE, July 13 (Reuters) - Ukraine’s top war crimes prosecutor and judicial authorities from across Europe will meet in The Hague on Thursday to coordinate investigations into atrocities since Russia’s invasion nearly five months ago.

The Netherlands hosts the Ukraine Accountability Conference to work out the complex task of evidence sharing, prosecution strategy and providing international war crimes expertise to investigators on the ground...”

"I don’t actually believe in war crimes."

I don't believe that killing your enemy any way you can during a war, to lessen their ability to conduct war, is a war crime. One of the books I'm currently reading is "Rogue Heroes: The History of the SAS" by Ben Macintyre. In the deserts of Egypt, etc., during WWII, these guys slid into enemy airfields in the dead of night to destroy as many planes, vehicles, gasoline storage units, etc., as they could. On several occasions, they attacked and killed groups of Nazis, Italians, etc., huddled in cabins relaxing, and drinking. Years later some of the men felt guilty for having done it, and thought that what they did could have been considered war crimes. The bottom line is that there were plenty of pilots in those cabins who had they been allowed to live, would have later climbed into a plane to bomb allied ships, and troops fighting to hold on to a strip of land. Anything you could do to lessen your enemy's ability to kill you was justified as far as I'm concerned.

They'll be working hard on those "Russian war crimes trials" right up to the minute The Hague gets rubbed out by a hypersonic missile...

You made an enormous omission.

NATO attacked electric infrastructure in Yugoslavia mostly by dropping carbon-fiber filaments that only caused short-circuits and very limited damage to the infrastructure itself. It was easy to repair.

ALSO:
Later on, NATO spiked those attacks somewhat by using real bombs.
Yes, BUT, those real bombs were focusing on the destruction of electric distribution lines, not on the main production components and big production infrastructure.

Russia on the other hand is trashing the whole big production infrastructure in Ukraine! It’s TOTALLY different.

So... nice try... Mr. kiryandil.
Truth is important.
