“The work was so slow - it was laggin’,
restoring an old Chinese dragon,
In a Manhattan building,
Some old artists were regilding;
While sipping Baijiu from a flagon.”

Not bad at all!
The Chicoms operate these like the Mafia according to what I have read. They operate with impunity against Chinese expatriates to keep them in line with the protection of the deep state. I’m sure the previous posters were right and the Chicoms were warned about this “show” raid.
I humbly agree with you.
Wife and I were city kids ‘til we moved to the countryside about 15 years ago.
No animals at all until a scrawny little boy kitty showed up at our door. 2 years later he discovered girls, brought 2 home with him and the race was on!
Highest count was 17 barneys at once, now down to just one.
Then one day she wanted a pet duck. We ended up with 4 baby goats instead. WHAT WERE WE THINKING?!?!
They were the most wonderful critters that did get along with the ducks, chickens ‘coons - possums and skunks. Cats were not so much appreciated by EllieMae, as one clawed her nose thru a hole in the wall.
The years took their toll on the critters (oh, we had 5 rabbits once, too) and the last goat, Casper, died in November.
I never realized how much of my daily routine revolved around them.
No more for us - too old to take care of them. Well, not really - I just don’t want anyone else to determine their fate if I pass first.
