About 100 Ukrainian troops will head to Oklahoma's Fort Sill as soon as next week to begin training on the Patriot missile defense system, the Pentagon announced Tuesday.
Ukraine has long sought the Patriot surface-to-air guided missile defense system because it can target aircraft, cruise missiles and shorter-range ballistic missiles. During his late December visit to the U.S., Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the battery would make a significant difference in bolstering Kyiv's defenses against Russia's invasion.

After experiencing the Oklahoma lifestyle, these guys will not want to go back to Ukraine.
How ya’ gonna keep ‘em down on the farm, after they’ve seen Paree! (an old tune from WWI.)
Why not vacation (I mean train) in Oklahoma?
Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’ (1955)
There’s a bright golden haze on the meadow
There’s a bright golden haze on the meadow
The corn is as high as an elephant’s eye,
An’ it looks like it’s climbin’ clear up to the sky.
Oh, what a beautiful mornin’,
Oh, what a beautiful day.
I got a beautiful feelin’
Ev’rything’s goin’ my way.
All the cattle are standin’ like statues
All the cattle are standin’ like statues
They don’t turn their heads as they see me ride by,
But a little brown mav’rick is winkin’ her eye.

In the interview sessions about Oklahoma, singer Kenny Rogers said as a kid hearing that song he longed to visit Oklahoma someday to look up and see corn as high as an elephant’s eye.
Then he found out the filming of the corn field scenes were done in Arizona.
Amazing how far we have come, technologocally.
Thanks!
I love hearing from our vets on these threads.
Considering that Ukraine has already lost maybe 3 times more troops than the West lost in Korea and Vietnam, both Iraq wars, and Afghanistan, I imagine these guys won't be allowed out on the town while they're here or there won't be anyone left to send back with the missile systems.
We live in amazing times.
“They’ll be in the USA when their country collapses.”
Don’t envy them. You might be here when your country collapses too.
OKLAHOMA CITY — The U.S Department of Defense said this week that about 100 Ukrainian soldiers will head to Fort Sill for Patriot missile training as soon as next week.
Sen. Nathan Dahm, of Broken Arrow, then filed a resolution to reject Ukrainian troops in Oklahoma.
“We saw how recently the Ukrainian military fired a rocket into Poland killing two innocent civilians, said Dahm. “We certainly don’t need them practicing here in Oklahoma where our citizens could be under the constant threat of a similar failure.”
Sen. Dahm’s proposal would direct the Pentagon to reverse course on the recent announcement.
“This resolution rejects this attempt by the feds to put foreign troops in Oklahoma,” Dahm said.
I’ve heard aid to Ukraine described as Lockheed’s retirement fund for executives, and I can see some truth in that. But I can’t help but wonder how much more it’s going to cost us when after Ukraine Russia takes Poland, Slovakia,Hungary and down to Serbia. Sooner or later we’ll have to take a stand and the longer we wait the more costly it will be. If we had slapped Putin down when he first tried to take Crimea, would he have moved against Ukraine?
Just more training Ukrainians to fight our war with Russia.
Betcha there won’t be 100 when they leave. Some will disappear into the US community like so many illegals have.
Now I thought we wouldn’t/couldn’t/shouldn’t lend these out to other countries to operate. I thought they had to be operated by Americans.
Current Patriot operators:
Germany
Greece
Israel
Japan
Jordan
Kuwait
Morocco
Netherlands
Qatar
Romania
Saudi Arabia
South Korea
Spain
Sweden
Taiwan
United Arab Emirates
United States
Future Patriot operators:
Poland
Ukraine
We only lend or give them to Ukraine. Everyone else has to buy them.
Notice that there was a Presidential term lull between those two events? Coincidence? The then current Secretary of State took a lot of Russian money for her foundation. But Trump's servers once pinged a Russian bank!
Hmm. Interesting. I knew they were installed in other countries but I thought they were operated by American service people.
It they are smart, they won’t go home.
So, you think the "clown car" army that couldn't even take Kiev is going to attack NATO, defeat the combined forces of the NATO countries (including the United States), and take "Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and down to Serbia".
Get out much?
