This is what the Arab Muhammadans do, claim some random piece of land as a holy site, then defy you to tell them it isn’t.
There are more “Abraham’s Wells” in Arabia, places the Muhammadans have labeled a holy site because Abraham (allegedly) watered his flock there, than there are McDonald’s in the US.
After I’d been to about a dozen of them, it occurred to me that “Abraham’s Well” is the Muhammadan’s equivalent of “George Washington Slept Here.” It doesn’t matter that they have no proof (other than some obscure and non-specific reference in the Quran [as is the case with Mecca]), what does matter is you can’t prove they’re wrong. And it doesn’t matter whether there’s water there or not, they’ll just claim the waterhole has since dried up.
Just like GW Slept Here, it’s good for the tourist trade. They’ll even claim that pilgrims wouldn’t be coming there to pray if it weren’t the real deal (= circular logic).
Here they’re desecrating an actual holy site.
