The Mayflower passengers (one of which is my ancestor) broke no laws when they landed in this country and established their community.
I have a Mayflower ancestor as well. My paternal grandmother was an enthusiastic member of the Mayflower Society and DAR. My paternal great grandfather left Wales in 1863 and legally emigrated to the US. He served in the Union Army and spent two years in a Confederate POW camp.
