What part of the US homeland defense plan involves land warfare? If we are having artillery duels with any enemy in Oklahoma, we already lost.
Everything sent to Ukraine so far was budgeted for the defense of European territory against russian invasion, so it’s doing its job....
And here we have another FReeping FReneral chiming in, offering wind to a serious discussion.

A mental exercise I have often enjoyed, especially while driving long hours down the Interstate …
Most of our forces are deployed overseas. Japan, South Korea, Germany, England, NATO obligations, Africa (Africa?) and the Middle East, our boys just ain’t home right now. Only real “trained” military count, though our militia is a solid wildcard.
So imagine an attack, in the Pearl Harbor sense, fierce and brutal and right where we least expect it. Square in the homeland and lethal as hell.
I’m thinking a Chinese land force from Mexico, or maybe Canada, landed from a multi-unit cargo ship or quietly assembled over several months. Or maybe all those Chinese college students suddenly ordered to report to a warehouse in Little Rock. A suicidal force, since logistics from home would be nearly impossible, although a serious “prepper” stockpile of “Boots, Beans & Bullets” would pose a real problems.
And that’s just the shooting and logistics part. There is so much more. (How is your family food supply, by the way?) I’ll leave the political parts of this exercise to someone more awake and aware than myself. For now.
