The change to the law specifically deletes language requiring the “election authority” to compare the signature on the mail-in ballot “with the signature on the official registration record card.”

Instead, the law directs the “election authority” to verify whether the ballot is authentic by comparing the ballot to “the applicant’s signature on file with the office of the election authority.”

In a different paragraph, the legislation changes the Election Code to specify that election judges “shall compare the voter’s signature on the certification envelope of that vote by mail ballot with the voter’s signature on the application” that had been verified by election officials at the time someone applied for a mail-in ballot.

So you can falsely fill out a ballot application, sign the application, then send in the illegal ballot with the same signature as the application? Nope, no fraud potential there...

I wonder if it ever occurs to these people that they ultimately cheat themselves in the long run. But I guess that as long as the corrupt gravy train keeps on running as of now, that is the only thing that matters.

Doesn’t matter anyway, because in something 40-something states, they disregarded the signature anyway.

Impossible, democrats don’t cheat elections. The repubs just don’t vote hard enough.

At least that’s what I’m told.

Well if the law enshrined cheating, then that would be how the game is going to be played.

Imagine if Republicans accepted that challenge, “who can cheat the hardest? “

Isn’t Chicago where election cheating originated?

If that is what the good people of IL want. So Be It. As the election of 2020 proved, there are people who prefer ten dollar a gallon gasoline over prosperity. Five dollar a dozen eggs over affordable food. The dollar a gallon heating oil over staying warm. And a thousand dollar a kilowatt electricity. If it means getting rid of President Trump. And they love obamacare.

Illinois is lost anyway. State Legislatures can control mail-in voting to prevent fraud, but they have to make an effort. Obviously the ‘Rats want to make it easier to commit fraud.

Right now the courts are allowing states to require valid ID to vote, also allowing states to make applying for a mail-in ballots a lot harder to do. State Legislatures can restrict the number of drop-boxes, the hours for using drop-boxes, the location of drop-boxes(not on street corners, but at public buildings for example).

They aren’t even trying to be subtle about it. Just “in your face” fraud and corruption. To be expected when both the courts and Republican Party turn their back on past fraudulent elections.

It was a nice country we used to have. Apparently cheating is now legal.
