On Thursday, Jan. 5, a vandal entered the Subiaco Abbey with a sledgehammer and bashed open the top of the altar.
Using a sledgehammer, a conventional hammer, and an axe, the vandal dug into the slab of stone and stole two reliquaries containing three relics.
The man reportedly began tampering with the tabernacle, removing the cross sitting atop it, before being discovered and fleeing.

My cousin attended Subiaco in the mid 60’s. It was very needed in his case.
I’ll reach out to the Abbott, perhaps they are raising funds already for repairs.
Probably a pro infanticide protester who’s mad they can’t slaughter babies anymore.
Were they LGBTs or lgbtS?
Maybe there’s no political angle to this case.
There is no reasonable excuse for the Michigan desecrators however. They won and won big with the state Constitution locking in full abortion rights and all the trimmings. Much worse than in the Roe days.
But still they vandalize and attack.

From another source, “very inebriated.” Doesn’t look like the type who cared about politics much. But who knows.
My husband lived in nearby Paris, Arkansas. Visited there one Easter and attended Mass there.
