Former President Donald Trump congratulated House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on winning the speaker position, in addition to urging primaries for Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Republicans who voted with him on last year’s $1.7 trillion, 4,155-page omnibus spending bill.
“Great job Kevin,” Trump started his statement on his Truth Social account, while “retruthing” a clip of McCarthy thanking the former president for helping get him elected to the position.

Thanks President Trump. This is the way. It’s not just Mitch. It’s 90% of the Repuke conference
Time for Mitch to announce his retirement to “spend more time with the family”.

Trump isn’t winning points with me. His slide really began with Oz.
Ditto.
GOP is useless...they want Trump gone more than the democrats
Yes. The uniparty is a real thing.
BZZZZZZZZZZT.
Great job MATT, it should have started.
Trump seems so out of touch lately. But, he never apologizes for anything, so either submit, or make it clear we're not on our knees.
I agree that there were bad endorsements of bad candidates.
What do you want Trump to do now?
.
You are absolutely correct!
3 Senate GOP don’t want Trump put in Prison so he can’t stop the DC orgy.
Three
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
“If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).
"14th Amendment, Section 3: No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof [emphases added]. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."
Pelosi: "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it." (non-FR; 6 sec.)
“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves [emphasis added]. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)
Next, “street fighter” Trump 47 and Congress need to establish an "Oath Court" based on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment (14A) that will have original jurisdiction in hearing allegations of abuse of government power by federal or state actors, especially alleged violations of Section 2 of 14A. (Maybe that's why Sections 2 & 3 are consecutively numbered?)
"14th Amendment, Section 2: Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State." [Apportionment of Representatives]"
Next, ALL the states desperately need to effectively "secede" from the unconstitutionally big federal government by repealing the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments (16&17A).
If the repeal 16&17A amendment was strictly limited to that purpose, then relatively little or ideally no discussion would be needed before ratification imo.
Finally, I've updated a well known adage as follows.
Inspired by 17th Amendment, the definition of insanity is electing the same career lawmakers over and over again, expecting better results every time.
(Jefferson excerpt repeated.)"Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves [emphasis added]. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)
Me 3.
If Trump had his way, NONE of the concessions the holdouts won would have happened.
But Trump obviously cut some deal with the POS - so as usual, it’s all about Trump - so here we are.
And he’s bragging about it. According to Trump, McCarthy wouldn’t be there.
I wonder if trump realizes Mcconnell isn’t up until 2026?
McConnell will be 81 next month. I doubt he’ll run again.
Pass the baton to someone who can STFU once in a while and stop making everything about himself.
Endorse someone who's not an 80 year old egomaniac. Someone who knows how to pick people who aren't scumbags.
Sick of his $**T.
I doubt it too. Although we’ve had a few 100 year olds over the years. My point is trump should focus on getting RINOs out running in 2024. We have an election in Virginia tomorrow. Not a peep. Democrats are working this election even though it’s a red seat.
I want Trump to enjoy the rest of his life.
Awww, that’s too ad. Giving up is easy to do.
Sen. Bitch McConnell is a sellout. No more !!!!
I presume that means in respected retirement from politics.
