Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Half of the world's glaciers will melt and disappear before the turn of the next century, according to alarming new research that predicts greater fallout from global warming despite meaningful efforts in recent years to address environmental concerns.
The study, published Thursday in the journal Science, projects that nearly 50% of the Earth's natural ice will dissolve by the year 2100, which is much quicker than scientists previously calculated if the planet warmed by only 1.5C -- a benchmark set by hundreds of nations to cut emissions and protect more land for nature and the environment.
The world's oceans would rise dramatically under such a scenario and lead to flooding and other major disasters around the world, according to the study, which analyzed glacial land ice but excluded Greenland and the Antarctic ice sheets.
Glacier ice melt accounts for more than one-third of the rise in sea levels, scientists say. Melting occurs naturally, but the climate crisis and increased temperatures have sped up the decline.

I will never forget Glacier Lake in Kalifornia. The AlGore acolytes actually put up signs warning that all the ice that makes up Glacier Lake would be gone by.....2020.
Again, I sooo wish I could move forward in time, to the middle of the next Ice Age and watch the Comedy Channel showing AlGore and his minions stating “The Earth has a fever” as the viewers shiver in the cold.

According to the “experts”, those pesky glaciers should have been gone decades ago.
Some of the most notable glaciers in the world are fed by ice fields that get so little precipitation that they’re classified as deserts.
I remember being in college and hearing Al Gore (I heard this first-hand) say Manhattan and Florida would be under water by Y2K or thereabouts. Never happened.
They have scrubbed a lot of their predictions and statements going back to the mid 80’s when they flipped from the coming ice age to the “world has a fever”.
All of this “climate” crap boils down to two groups - useful idiots who hear and believe this nonsense and they really do want to “save the planet” and those in control of the movement who are globalists/fascists who correctly view this “crusade” as a vehicle to control humanity and become very wealthy.
It has become an organized religion or cult. In fact, many historical figures from the defunct USSR have openly admitted that it was hatched as as part of the plan by the KGB to undermine the West along with identity politics and other claptrap.
The USSR failed but communists in the West have never ceased their efforts to advance the poison pill(s). If Khrushchev were alive today he might feel a sense of fulfillment as he looks to the West.
Correct. There was more precipitation during the Ice Age compared to now. That allowed for large savannas to grow in the Southern Plains. All sorts of large bison, mammoths, sloths, tigers, etc. that are no longer around due to the lack of habitat.

Climate “Scientists” have learned that making 10 and 20 year predictions/projections are bad for their credibility.
And if we were smart, we'd start building places to store all of this fresh water.

Sometimes glaciers grow too. Glaciers have been growing because that is what they do, they grow and there is not a thing we can do about it

This is very good news. We will not be facing the ice age predicted by climate historians. Our children and their children will not only survive, they will thrive in the greener, warmer earth climate. CO2 truly is our friend!
