Update 11:18 p.m.: McCarthy again failed on the 14th ballot. The final tally was: McCarthy 216, Democrat Rep. Hakim Jeffries 212, others 4, present 2. The House is now voting to determine whether to adjourn until Monday or vote for a 15th time.
Update 10:05 p.m.: Voting is again underway. Stay tuned to PJ Media for additional details.
Update 3:50 p.m.: On the thirteenth ballot, McCarthy again failed to secure enough votes for a win. He picked up one additional vote this time around, Rep. Andy Harris (Md.). The rest of the holdouts voted for Rep. Jim Jordan (Ohio): McCarthy 214, Jeffries 212, Jordan 6. The House is adjourned until 10 p.m. tonight.
Original story:
On the twelfth vote for speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, several of the twenty holdouts switched their votes to Kevin McCarthy’s column.
The House erupted in cheers each time a holdout voted for McCarthy, signaling their relief that the end of the protracted battle for the top position in the House may be in sight. The final tally was McCarthy 213, Hakeem Jeffries 211, and others 7, coming on the heels of tense negotiations over the last several days as a group of conservatives pressed McCarthy for changes to House rules and key leadership roles. The magic number for McCarthy had been 218 votes, but due to three absences in the House, it was lowered to 217, leaving the California Republican just four votes shy of a win. McCarthy has indicated that he wants to proceed with another vote rather than adjourn for the weekend, suggesting he believes he has the votes needed to bring the election to a conclusion.

We’re at a turning point. I’ve negotiated in good faith, with one purpose: to restore the People’s House back to its rightful owners. The framework for an agreement is in place, so in a good-faith effort, I voted to restore the People’s House by voting for @gopleader McCarthy.

Thanks for the update.
DO NOT TRUST KEVEN. End of story.
A deal has been made. Repubs flipping on adjournment. Lots of smiles. McCarthy is our next speaker
They’ll vote one more time. Who flipped? One of the Biggs or Jordan votes going present or someone switching to McCarthy?
Gaetz and Boebert not going along with the show and another GOP member had to be taken away from their presence tonight.
Mike Rogers of Alabama shown being moved away from Boebert and Gaetz.
It’s the upper left picture in the series.

Bingo. Kevin is a corrupt degenerate.
I’m pleased with this and I’m sure the freedom caucus will get the needed concessions so we don’t continue on with the scum sucking rino way of doing things which has been spiraling the country forever while making politicians ridiculously wealthy. See Pelosi, McConnell, AOC, Waters, and all others who are now worth millions on $200k a year.
It’s long past time for rino’s to be held accountable just like the scum sucking democrat criminals will be (I hope).
The days of playing nice guy are over. It’s time for deliberate and decisive action to patch the hull of the listing ship then pump out the bilge water (uniparty cucks) to get back on track.
How will the republic survive!
Very proud of the holdouts
Best thing since Trump’s Presidency
One born every day.
Some people just can’t take NO for an answer.
Im sure they will come up with a sex scandal or enough cash to buy one vote
The next vote is underway. And it sounds like they have another vote.
On the twelfth vote for speaker, it was the DNC
Sending our money overseas
(well it rhymes sorta)
No doubt he’ll get it, but the fight was worth it.
What McCarthy gets is a big fat nothing and there won’t be any changes and all the Republican freedom caucus that for him we’ll get screwed in the end for trying to change things. McCarthy will never honor any deal he made.
Gotta love a linked article with a 1:57 time stamp. Meanwhile, we’re two ballots later and it appears McCarthy’s the SOTH.
Old news.....
