Norwegian ferry operator Fjord Line says high LNG prices is forcing it to rebuild two LNG-powered ferries to run on traditional marine gas oil (MGO).
Despite a strong peak season in 2022, Fjord Line says that increases in the price of LNG fuel has led to a “non-sustainable financial situation” for the company.

LOL is great to see the European greenies get hit hard in the face with economic reality. Greta Thunberg is going to be pissed
I’ve always said that converting everything, trucks, ship, power generation etc., to LNG was a bad idea. There will always be supply disruptions.
Fuel oil is much more common an item, and supply is much more stable. Pollution is also less of a thing with modern fuels and engines.
Why not convert to troll power?
Electic batteries using the free hydro power?
“...marine gas oil (MGO)...”

Basically diesel fuel, bet they don’t want to say that word.
They could save money by using Chjevys
Due to North Sea oil, Norway is energy independent.
They can just pump more oil out.
I don’t see them suffering like the rest of Europe.
UNLESS they stop pumping for environmental reasons, but they might as well shoot their own foot.
Norway exports oil and natural gas...much more than energy independent.
Norway is not a member of the European Union. I would bet that they did not join the EU because they were worried that the EU would force them to reduce oil and gas production.
I doubt they will ever stop pumping oil/natural gas.
Is that the same as Mo Gas? I drove a deuce and a half in the army, it was multi-fuel, but we ran on ‘mo gas’.. which was crap if tried to run it in a car
Physics is your friend.
look at BTUs per volume.
A few hundred Kilos of U-235 fuel will run
a submarine for 50 years or more non stop.
A few hundred kilos of “Green” batteries will get you 50 miles towing a boat with your fancy electric Ford pickup truck, before needing a re-charge.
Y’all figure it out.
The price of natural gas in the US has been completely obliterated in the last week. Crushed.

They’re pretty much masochists there as they’re good with $10/gallon gasoline because they think they can ‘save the planet’...as if that works with 5 million people.
At least the Neocons are willing to engage China and Russia in a nuclear war to keep them from frying the plant.
Guess we must have run out too? Dang the luck!

So did the price go up or down?
Did the price of natural gas go up or come down?
When President Trump let the drillers Drill Baby Drill we were exporting large amounts of LNG to Europe. Some countries built huge offshore facilities to receive the LNG. More industries changed, or considered changing to Natural Gas. Many foreign companies build factories/facilities in the American States that promote fracking. Inexpensive, and especially consistent, energy supply is essential to bring industry into an area. Another reason the DemocRATS hate President Trump. Inexpensive energy is freedom.
mogas is slang for common motor gasoline,
avgas is slang for aviation gasoline.
This entire price drop has been masked by the incessant reporting, even by so-called credible sources, of the terrible /NG situation in Europe. Which is not untrue, but my point is that the reporting has generated an astoundingly false impression on the part of an otherwise only-moderately-interested reader. There is an important lesson there.
/NG gas gone from 5.65 to 3.76 in the last (I was mistaken) 2 weeks and hit 3.52 (-38%) earlier today. A 33% decline. That's pretty substantial. Never mind $9 and $10 in August.
