WASHINGTON -- Amid all the division in Washington, Friday marks two years since the deadly January 6 siege on Capitol Hill.
There is a new lawsuit from the estate of a Capitol police officer who died during the attack.
It was filed by the family of Officer Brian Sicknick, who was from New Jersey.
The lawsuit accuses former President Donald Trump of being responsible for Sicknick's death.
It also names two men who were charged with assaulting him with a chemical spray. The suit is seeking over $10 million in damages.

Brian Sicknick, a United States Capitol Police (USCP) officer, died on January 7, 2021, after having two strokes one day after he responded to an attack on the U.S. Capitol. The District of Columbia chief medical examiner found that Sicknick had died from stroke, classifying his death as natural. Multiple media outlets reported Sicknick's death was due to injuries he sustained, but months later the Washington D.C. medical examiner reported there were no injuries to Sicknick. Within a day after his death, the U.S. Capitol Police and the U.S. Justice Department each said that his death was due to injuries from the riot. Meanwhile media, citing two anonymous law enforcement officials, incorrectly reported for weeks that Sicknick had died after being struck in the head with a fire extinguisher during the unrest. Brian Sicknick's death was investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch, the USCP, and the FBI. On March 14, Julian Khater and George Tanios were arrested for assaulting Sicknick with a chemical spray and for other charges.[11] The medical examiner found no evidence that Sicknick had an allergic reaction to the chemical spray. Prosecutors later said on April 27 that the chemical spray was pepper spray. Neither of the two men have been charged with causing Sicknick's death
Looking for a settlement. Trump, tell them to go piss sand!
Looking for a settlement. Trump, tell them to go piss sand!
Trump should file a countersuit, charging them with attempted extortion and infliction of mental anguish.
Should the lawyer who filed suit be allowed to continue practice in DC?
I want Ashlii’s family to sue the DC police for murdering their daughter in cold blood
I lost power over Christmas.. 2 below but no pipes broke, generator worked fine, really no damage just my inconvenience.
I’ll be filing a law suit against Biden for $30.5 trillion for pain and suffering.
I’m guessing my chances are the same as Trump getting sued for this BS.
No police died because of the Jan 6th protest, this dude died the next day of a heart attack that had zero to do with the protest. Family is just looking for a payout.
A Washington jury will give the family $10 billion
Only in crazy land would this not be immediately thrown out.
Ashley Babbet’s mom reported to have been arrested today by Capitol Police.
if these people get a PENNY then every SINGLE person who lost money or property during the BLM riots needs to sue Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic party for trillions!
Shouldn’t they be suing Nancy Pelosi and Muriel Bowser?
So the J6 farce is doing it’s job. I am sure the lawyers will use CON-gress’ “findings” as support.
Since her and Sicknick split 6 months before he died, is she banging his anti-Trump brother Ken now?
Ditto that Sarah.
“I don’t know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country. Perhaps there will be.” - Nancy Pelosi
Sounds like “incitement” to me.
Get all the facts. What did the victim say in his texts about what happened!
He is dead. But his texts are immortal.
