In late May of 2021, the Illinois General Assembly jammed through SB 818, a bill to require so-called “comprehensive sex-education” to be taught in public schools, starting in kindergarten through 12th grade. It was signed by Governor JB Pritzker and became law on August 20, 2021, despite the hue and cry of parents and grandparents throughout the state. Public schools that taught health and safety classes would have to now teach left-wing sexuality classes to our impressionable young students.
Because 70 percent of school districts have opted out of these new (destructive) standards, State Senator Ram Villivalam (D-Chicago) has filed legislation to mandate public schools teach this detrimental curriculum (plus supplemental) with no opt-out provision for the next school year!

Moreover, this bill is anything but “culturally appropriate” for orthodox Jews, Christians and Muslims, which make them anything but “inclusive.”
Please join and raise your voice again in opposition to this bill and help us be the voice for our children.

Public education, as it started 125 years ago, may have been a reasonable idea at the time.
Now its a corrupt, bloated font of neo-marxist groupthink.
Even public schools in my area, which do not promote this gender-sex nonsense (the parents still have some control) is massively expensive, wasteful, union controlled, with steadily declining academic standards.
Why do we need sex education class at all, much less in every grade?
It’s very simple and short.
Even if you want to discuss mentally Ill perversions, it’s very simple. Doesn’t take more than an hour to go over it!
The younger the children are when they are yoked by Satan makes them easier to control when they get older. The great deception!
Satanism
You would be tempted to blame Cook county but this is the Illinois legislature. How did this state become the Ca of the Midwest?
GERRYMANDERING and SOROS $$$ has given DEMOCRATS control of most of the state.
Slowly, but surely. Salami tactics - slice by slice.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
“Why do we need sex education class at all,..”
Good question...
Because a lot of people hear the word sex and they freak out. And because a lot of parents don’t talk to their children about sex. It is some how taboo. And if they do they make sure their children understand sex they couch it in terms of bad, evil or some such language.
As a country we still seem to be stuck in the puritan mindset on sex. People are always going on about abstinence did they practice that when they were young? I’ll bet not. Was everybody a virgin when they got married? Probably not. So there’s a lot of hypocrisy there.
Sex has been here forever. It’s not going away. I’d rather children learn about sex and the what can happen as opposed to pretending it doesn’t exist. Maybe we could cut down on all the unwanted pregnancies. How about cutting down on STD’s. Explaining birth control is a bad thing how..??
And if parents don’t teach their children, which should be their responsibility, then where do you think the kids will learn it?? Probably from their friends...probably like many people did.
Please say you forgot the sarc tag.
Really, do we need sex Ed for more than a few hours?
Come on.
As to your comments about being “puritan”, tell me which era was better -pre-pill/Sex Rev or post?
Today, yes, most people have screwed around immorally because of that garbage. Not all of us. But my parents Gen you can bet they did not go shacking up and screwing every time they had a chance.
Tell me, which era has better illegitimacy record?
That includes blacks as well as the rest of society.
Are you serious you think STDs are down?
All that has happened is people get used to habits, then they’re screwing because of lust and do whatever makes you feel good, and not caring about those “safeguards” - hello, bastards and disease.
Culture sucks now.
I’d much rather be puritan than promiscuous. (And that doesn’t just mean “I am true to my girlfriend” - phooey. Check another thread for my thoughts on that.)
This is NOT about traditional sex education. The Pritzker family is all about normalizing sexual perversity. They are pushing it as early as they can. Illinois parents need to get their kids out of the public school system NOW!
It is absolutely terrible that children can no longer grow up as children should.

I think you are looking at our parents generation thru rose colored glasses somewhat. Sex was just as prevalent...just hidden or not talked about. And if you don’t like sex well that’s your problem. I’ll take post era for 200 dollars Alex...
And your response is exactly illustrates what I was referencing...talking about sex makes people nervous, judgmental and so forth. It’s as normal as breathing...and has been around since the beginning. And I have no idea how long sex ed should be nor do I know exactly what the education system considers sufficient.
And STD’s and as you call them bastards...those have been here forever as well. But at least in today’s world we should be able to educate our young as to the consequences of unsafe sex and not pretend they don’t have sex. And NO I don’t think STD’s are down...but perhaps better educating our young people would help decrease that. And preaching abstinence isn’t going to solve that problem. That’s like putting your fingers in your ears and pretending you don’t hear something that might upset you.
Are you seriously suggesting that we somehow limit/control when people can or do have sex?? How is that not a dictatorial approach? How is that not foisting your values or judgements on others? Would you stand for that? I sure as he** wouldn’t.
I can’t fix the black culture and what is the norm. But sex is only part of that issue among many others.
In the end you can have your opinions on this issue and I will have mine.
How so you jump to ASSumptions about “controlling sex”, etc?
Where did I say such a thing?
As for this typical response of “it’s always been here” and “rose-colored glasses”, nonsense. And enough with the “there was immoral stuff happening” strawman. Duh. There is always immorality and bad things.
How do you account for relative lack of bastardy (yes, I’ll use a proper term) back in the days?
You surely don’t think everyone was just getting abortions, do you? Like it was that easy to get and that easy to cover up?
No, they knew sex was for reproduction, and they wanted to avoid that without moral strength if marriage. Sex isn’t just for your fun. Like eating it is a necessity, so is made pleasurable, but unlike eating (needed for the individual), sex (needed for the species) affects more than just YOU. It affects the partner, and the life you probably created. Bad sex means someone else can be ruined. Bad eating means you are ruined, but spare others.
Yes, we have opinions, but the data are there. The culture overall was much better prior to hippies and their crap. It’s what we’re fighting today, every day everywhere. I’ll listen to my mother, and believe my eyes.
Again, how much teaching does sex take? Nothing. Geesh, we need a degree in it?
Anyway, off the soapbox.
FED! FED! FED!
