Joe Biden plans a regulation spree expected to exceed Obama’s red-tape bonanza

President Biden is unleashing a tidal wave of red tape, nearly tripling the number of the most costly regulations from the Trump era, as he imposes a government wide approach to climate change and social justice policies.

The administration’s newly released Unified Regulatory Agenda includes 332 “economically significant” proposed rules, each of which would cost the economy at least $100 million per year. In President Trump’s final year in office, he proposed 199 such rules, and 20 were aimed at deregulation.

Mr. Biden’s regulatory push appears likely to exceed President Obama’s, said Wayne Crews, a regulatory analyst at the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

“Obama called it a ‘pen and phone,’ but Biden has taken it to a new level,” Mr. Crews said. “Biden has this aggressive, progressive agenda that he’s able to influence and inflict just by the sheer size of the federal government.”

The government’s rule-making powers address climate change, workplace regulations, clean air and water, equity issues, health care, cryptocurrency and other subjects across all federal agencies. In all, the plan outlines 2,651 rules in various stages of consideration.

The Securities and Exchange Commission plans to issue regulations on climate disclosure by April. The rules would require employers to report their greenhouse gas emissions and disclose how climate change affects their companies.

The Labor Department wants to release a final rule clarifying when a worker is classified as an independent contractor or an employee protected under federal wage law.

The Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy are weighing regulations for methane and ozone standards, among other proposals. More vehicle emission rules are also on the agenda.

The Department of Health and Human Services will propose a rule to create disincentives for health care providers who interfere with the sharing of electronic health records.

”In your face” is our communist masters' favorite tool to rattle the chains of tyranny that they have wrapped around our necks...

No Big Deal!
Our communist masters know that the pathetically servile and indolent Aamerican people will just continue to roll over and spread their collective cheeks...

“that he’s able to influence and inflict just by the sheer size of the federal government..”

Therein lies the problem.

It’s not like we weren’t warned.

If the lazy self serving members of congress had not unconstitutionally delegated so much (alleged) authority to “Regulatory agencies” we would not have this problem.
We would also have a fraction of the “Laws” misrepresented as “Regulations” to suffer under.
Before protesting that regulations are not laws ask what the difference in penalties are.
Both may send you to prison, deprive you of your assets, and ruin your life.
One is at least supposed to be voted on in congress, the other is “Implemented” by unelected bureaucrats who remain in their position despite the coming and going of administrations.

Only union contractors can be hired to do work for the government aka money loop 101.
