That rule was in place for at least 100 years before Nancy Pelosi reversed it, it’s not a crazy rule at all

It would be reversed again the instant the Democrats gain the majority again. This rule will only affect Republican speakers going forward.

In my book that’s a great thing, when Kevin McCarthy backtracks on any deal he makes to become speaker, which he likely will do then there a potential remedy.
