Another: HFCs get spots on key committees like Rules which sends bills to floor.
There really isn’t a ton of demands left to solve. Most of it is surround the rules committee and the demands are reasonable. Pushing thru 1.7 trillion dollar bills in a day is laughable and should NEVER be allowed. The other stuff is fluff, getting a vote on term limits, big deal, it will never pass. It shouldn’t even be a discussion, bring the damn vote.
They need enough spots to make a difference, that's the sticking point.

I think this is dumb and really can't be the sticking point here. This is a head scratcher that this is what we see in the headlines.

I supported the idea of McCarthy, but I’ve moved away. At this point, if McCarthy wins, those who opposed him will be banished to the netherworld and not participate actively in any committee work. These 20 voices need to be our bulldog force to expose DC corruption, but without seats, they wont be heard.
McCarthy now needs to step down.
McCarthy already moved into the speaker’s office, even though he has not been elected.

The pressitutes are acting like this is an unreasonable request! Yeah, right -- Unreasonable to go back to the original rule that tyrant Pelosi got rid of.
Absolute fact.
That was back when we had sanity in the House. Now the house impeaches Presidents just because they can. I even saw yesterday that one of the demands was to impeach Biden. All of this is irrational. Five would be fine and just as effective when 20 are blocking the vote.
But my point is that this can't POSSIBLY be the sticking point. It would be dumb to think so. This is just public humiliation of Kevin McCarthy. It would be better to stick with 5 and find a consensus candidate at this point.

EXCEPT
The right to vote to vacate.
The ability to kick him out if he goes back on a promise.
The one thing needed to hand out a consequence for bad faith actions
The ability to hold him accountable.
Teeth.

Not being able to betray us without consequence.
