He may have the right enemies, but he has the wrong friends.

I like Trump, and I will vote for him, at least in the primaries. But I don’t think he will be the GOP nominee. I have no idea at this early date who would be. There are some names I would support in the general, and some I would not, under ANY circumstances.

Good way of putting it.

“Confederates who hate the US shouldn’t get a vote.”

Well, I know you weren’t speaking of central_va, because from what I’ve read of his posts over the years he does NOT hate the US.

Adelson, like Kushner, is more devoted to Israel than the US, so in that regard, yes. And he actually gave millions, whereas your accusations seem to be more projections of what might happen, not what has.

How many Confederate officials were tried for treason?

Answer: None

Hey, didn't I see pulling down a statue of Robert E Lee?

States have the right to leave the union. The South would be MUCH better off today if they had won their freedom from FedGov. No denying that.

“...call the man ...the “globalist RINO” candidate.”

It is Wall Street never-Trumpers and MAGAs-haters backing DeSantis’s who quite accurately label him as that.

The Old Guard Republicans are scared to death of Donald Trump.

They aren’t afraid of Trump. But many Republicans are growing frustrated with Trump’s “winning” ability to send Democrats to Washington.

I’ll support DJT 100% if he wins the primaries, however I mostly likely will vote for DeSantis is he runs and suspect if he does he will win the primaries by a pretty solid margin

“He wishes that the traitorus, evil, Confederacy had one the Civil War. That IS hating the US. No different from the left.”

First off, I am assuming you meant “won” instead of “one.” If I am mistaken, ignore what I said.

But I do want to address the gist of your comment. It is very unfair to judge the actions of someone some 160 years ago by the standards of today; the world is much different today. For one thing, back in those days one’s primary allegiance was to one’s family, home, and state; because those were immediate; the idea of a national allegiance was not on the same level.

And I have to ask you this: Were the colonists who rebelled against King George III and waged a war for independence, traitors?

You see, it’s all a matter of perspective. And, of course, the victors get to set the rules by which judgment is cast.

You are from Pennsylvania. He is from Virginia. My family roots are Deep South (Louisiana), as are my wife’s (also Louisiana, and going back to the 1700s before Louisiana was ever brought in to the US). I have always said that the American Civil War was the greatest tragedy this country has ever faced. If we have to fight another one, let’s not fight it over something that happened before even your great grandparents were born, or at least before they were old enough to give it much thought. Let’s fight it over something we believe in TODAY.
