“McCarthy about to lose. Hakeem Jeffries might become the first Muslim Speaker of the House in US history.”

He won’t get 218 votes. Another vote will be required.

Is there more than a dime's worth of distance between Jeffries and McCarthy? It's lose-lose either way. The question is, do we want the failure of the House to act on important items laid at the feet of Republicans or Democrats? Or ... do the MAGA Republicans have the same blackmail material on McCarthy that the Democrats do?

True to his word, Gaetz voted Biggs. Gotta respect him for having a spine and being sincere.

Yes it matters who is speaker.

I have no great objdction to McCarthy he’s as worthless as the rest.

If they’d actually pick a different republican with cajones, also good.

Time for the Republicans to already have a plan in place.

Certainly among all of them, there’s one, someone, who has a few adversaries but no enemies.

One’s own preference would be Jordan but it appears that Biggs may have the opportunity to the deal maker here, Lord willing.

You didn't get the memo?

This is actually an incredible win for our side! Just ask any of the chronically online brigade here and they will tell you how this is all going to work out for a GREAT CONSERVATIVE VICTORY!

If I press the “report abuse” tab, will it get to the floor of the House?
= = =

With a little hacking, that tab could set off a nuke under that floor.

But, it still would not get their attention.
