Lest he be labeled a hypocrite, President Trump needs a refresher in Anti-Abortion Apologetics 101
American Thinker ^ | 01/03/2023 | Olivia Murray

What is the discipline of apologetics?

A term most often used in reference to the Christian faith —  you may have heard of noted apologists like C.S. Lewis or R.C. Sproul — apologetics is a “systematic argumentative discourse” to intellectually defend a particular viewpoint. Using reason and logic leaves no room for fallacy or emotionality, strengthening the defender’s position and weakening the opposition’s.

With that in mind, take a look at what President Trump said below:

Trump blames pro-lifers, the most loyal voting bloc the Republican Party has had for more than 40 years, for the disappointing midterms. This is self-immolation in real time. You can’t make this stuff up.

Let’s hone in on one thing:

It was the ‘abortion issue,’ poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother….

As you can see, Steve Deace castigated the president, as did many in the comments.

From someone who is a Christian, an anti-abortion absolutist, and still solidly behind my president, all I glean from President Trump’s statement is that he is capable of erring, and in need of a crash course in anti-abortion apologetics. So let’s get to it….

(Let me preface this by defining the scope of my argument within the realm of the natural world — I can’t begin to cover a transhumanist reality.)

When does a human life begin? The objective answer would be that life begins at the moment of conception. How do we know that? Well because before that moment, that entirely unique set of DNA did not exist,

“LOL...sounds like a petulant teenager...” It wasn’t my fault”...said in a high whiney voice...:)”

I have a question for you: Were all the multitude of people like you saying that it was Trump’s fault sounding like petulant teenagers and did you complain about it in a high whiny voice?

And, also, you can shove the prissy “LOL” where the sun don’t shine.

I have to agree on this.

President Trump is off-base on this issue.

As a strategic aside, Lindsey Graham purposefully used the issue to tank the mid-terms for MAGA supporters.

That being said, President Trump needs to correct this ASAP.

“If you want to lose me and a few million of your followers, just keep doing what you’re doing.”

He’s doing his best to turn off his base:

““We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard,” Trump said.”

“Trump goes after arguably the most loyal members of his base. Stable genius.”

Okay, wherein was he wrong.

Will voters inherently vote the right way? Do you remember the candidates who won Senate seats in Pennsylvania, Georgia? Those voters had both their eyes open and voted in candidates beyond all common sense. Voters can be stupid, and some Republicans candidates could not successfully defend (other than saying, “I’m right”) nor counter leftist hysterics. Here in Louisiana, last governor’s race, Republican leaders had a hand in voting in a democrat. And some Republicans like Graham sabotaged their own party.

Trump is (apparently) running for President. He’s not supposed to be just another internet chucklehead.

And yes, he sounds quite frankly like a whiny loser with this tweet.

” If abortion was a big effect on the midterms how come the Republicans won a bunch of seats they shouldn’t have in New York Northern Virginia California and other places where abortion should have been much bigger deal?”

Where do the Republicans who won those races stand on the issue of abortion?

Well, he’s been married 3 times. That we can see.

“Trump is (apparently) running for President. He’s not supposed to be just another internet chucklehead.”

Can you give just one example of Trump being just another internet chucklehead?

He said it wasn’t his fault that the Republicans fell way short. That statement was in response to a tsunami of accusations from all sides, from the highest to the lowest, that it was his fault.

I am assuming that you, yourself, would never, ever deign to defend yourself from scurrilous accusations. Not everyone is noble hearted and stupid enough to do that.

Any post that starts with “It wasn’t my fault” is whiny and petulant. Look, I hate to break it to you, but the Trump magic is gone. In the last two years he has devolved from a decisive leader to a thin skinned sore loser.

“Look, I hate to break it to you, but the Trump magic is gone.”

You can’t back up your claim that Trump is just an internet chucklehead, and you certainly can’t back up your ridiculous claim here. It is just wish-casting on your part.

I bet DeSantis is not even paying you anything.

“It was people who stayed home”

It was the cheating. Trump knows this. The Hill is paraphrasing Trump out of context.

Trump got rid of the notion that abortion is a constitutional right. It is not. Trump fixed that.

The rest is trolling. Trump is the original troll.

Trump can’t get the votes McCarthy needs to be elected speaker. Trump wanted Senator Scott elected minority leader but McConnell was reflected by a wide margin. Several of Trump’s high profile endorsements in the midterms lost. His super hero trading card announcement made him a laughing stock. The proof is there. You choose to ignore it

That you can tell a lot about a person by what they do.
