I have no respect for the medical profession. I’ll use them for emergencies. But I think I’m better off with decent diet and exercise and minimal “medicine” most of the time.
You really have to understand the few things that the medical 'profession' are good at. They are great at mechanical stuff. Break a leg? No problem. Break a wrist or ankle? Same thing. If it is a physical thing, they can do amazing things. I had a motorcycle accident a few years ago and pretty much crushed the bones in my left wrist, and messed up the thumb badly as well. Today, the only way I can tell it was my left hand, was that I have a small scar running up to the thumb. From a mechanical standpoint, everything works just as well as it did before. It was totally amazing.
What the medical 'profession' really doesn't understand is anything having to deal with the immune system. They think they do though, and that is what makes them really dangerous. They'll happily follow some prescribed regimen right up to the point where you drop dead from their "treatment". It's really not much different from when they used leeches. They don't really fully understand immune responses, and similarly don't really understand most illnesses beyond those things that are very simple and obvious. They sure as heck don't understand anything at all about the brain, other than how to mess it up. Similarly, neurological stuff is pretty much quackery unless they can find direct mechanical (i.e., physical) issues like a blockage of a neurological path. Hell, it wasn't really all that long ago that these quacks would swear up and down that ulcers were the result of 'stress' or something similar.
Medical "science" is full to the brim of faddism and just plain insanity. Witness the willingness of so many to embrace the 'trans' garbage since it is something that will end up being so incredibly lucrative for those willing to destroy the health of their 'patients'. They want you to just forget their full support of lobotomies, and other really insane practices.
My general recommendation is to stay the hell away from doctors unless you absolutely have to, and unless you already know exactly what it is that you want them to do.
