DeSantis isn’t going to run but some of those who work themselves up over him will then not vote for Trump.

DeSantis will run. He'd be stupid not to and he's not stupid.

If Trump wins the primary, DeSantis voters will get on board. Trump's problem is that he's lost the independent and swing voters who are critical for Republicans to win presidential elections.

The political partisans who post on Free Republic aren't the problem. It's the people who don't post here that won't vote for Trump (but they voted for DeSantis in his re-election landslide).

Boy do you have that 180 degrees backwards.

The ones you will have to worry about are stalwart Trump supporters that will look at an attempt by DeSanctimonious to primary Trump as an act of treachery and being a traitor.

And there are a lot more of them then the imaginary voters you mentioned.

Without those voters, DeSanctimonious doen't have a chance in 2024, or any year.

In 2015-16 when Trump surged in PA and much of the rust belt, h attracted Democrats and independents.

But currently neither Trumpers nor other Republicans reach out and welcome non-Republicans. GA is the top example.

Republican policies made jobs boom in GA. Naturally the unemployed who want to work immigrated from the Rust Belt cities to GA. Enough of them were ready to convert to swing voters, or Republicans, for GA to continue to be solid RED.

But neither the Jody Hice Trumper Republicans nor the Kemp Republicans... nor the Nathan Deal Republicans (which are not the Kemp Republicans) nor the Republican Assembly Republicans have reached out or welcomed converted Democrats.

Most voters out there are at heart, swing voters.Voters who lean Democrat just don’t feel welcome when they move toward the Republicans.

Good analysis.

DeSantis should run in 2024. But Joe Biden has the backing of the Deep State behind him. And Trump may run on the third party ticket.
